We got Tashee las Saturday she will be 8 week on the 12, and I am having problems getting her to eat, I put her food in her bowl with a little bit of water so is soft for her, but she drink the water and maybe chew in 2 or 3 pieces and thats it, she ask for more later but do the same thing just chew a few pieces and thats it. I try to give her some milk mix with her food, she drinks the milk and a few more pieces and thats it. She eats anything that she really dont have to chew, she like milk and chesse, I contact the breeder and he suggest to mix it with ALPO! out of all the can foods he suggested alpo, well, I don't want her to get used to can food I don't really like to feed that to the dogs . She was on Scients diet or at least is what the breeder say. I giving her Nutro lamb and rice, I have a dog with allergies that can not eat anything else. Another question, Tashee is a very good looking pup, but the breeder did not dock her tail all the way like the standard say, she has maybe 2 extra inches, is not a big deal but if I ever decide to enter her in a show, how bad this will be? do somebody know? Other than that she is doing great, she has all the dogs living in the back of chairs and sofas because they don't like to be splater into the ground, Kelly the Sihi tzu is trying to play with her but Tashee grab her by the tail and drag the poor Kelly all over the place I know she is just been a puppy Thank you any imput on this matters |

Not sure what she is on, but if it is kibble you can put hot water on it so it gets a bit mushy, let it cool and then try that. If it is tinned you can put it in the microwave for a few seconds and it smells better to the puppy. I know it isnt a good idea but I would hand feed her just to get food down her. Beware of too much cheese and bits as they could upset her tummy. Please let us know how you get on. |
Asterisk wouldn't eat her food unless it was on the ground and even then, she was hit and miss. Asterisk has never been an 'eater.' Her food could sit in her bowl all day and she wouldn't touch it. She'll eat when she's hungry. But if she's listless and doesn't appear healthy I'd take her to the vet. She'll figure it out. |
You can show her in agility or obedience or herding or whatever just fine (I presume she came with a registration). Pretty darn sure she doesn't come from show lines with a two inch tail on a baby puppy. My fullgrown rescue dog has a two inch tail. We do agility. Have you checked inside her mouth to make sure nothing is bothering her? An almost 8 week old puppy should have sharp little baby teeth and not be afraid to use them on anything including kibble How much does she weigh, roughly? Have we seen pictures and I'm the only dunce who doesn't know that? I presume yes or you'd be hounded for pics already Kristine |
She waights almos 15 Lb, she is a big Girl, and she is full of puppy of vinegar , she runs and chasse all the other dogs, grab them by the tail and drag them everywhere. One of her gums is a little puffy and looks like her molar hasen't complety come thru so I am pretty sure this is the problem, this was confirm by a wonderful member of the forum she is a breeder (Ali) thank God for people like her. I was thinking in run with her in Free Style, and obediance too ! The breeder say that the parents come from show dogs, but I did not see any titles on them, I am not worry about the tail really, it was just a question , everybody dreams on having a Westmisnster Champion, but she is already a Champion and a Best in Show in my heart! |
My dog always has an obsession with biting her stub (about 2" as well) and my vets all think it's from improper docking when she was a puppy. |
I am glad and relife to let every bofy know that Tashee almost empty her bawl this morning ! I put her food in the food processor and add a little bit of water and milk, and give her a little bit of can dog food, and she ate, I am so trill about it, and please dont told me that I spoil my dog |
