How big?
I'm asking because Bumble is almost as big as the only fully grown male OES we've met and she's only 7 months. She's almost 60lbs though still looks a little skinny to me! So I was just wondering if anyone out there has an especially big lady and what size she is? Thanks all! |

| It depends on lines. There are two local OES that I helped to rehome and they are VASTLY different in size. Jazabelle is 7.5 years old and weighs 55lbs. She is very small Bella is 5 years old and weighs 108lbs, she makes my own dogs look like dwarves. My own Asterisk is 2 years old and weighs 75lbs. None of these dogs are overweight. But also, they are not show quality dogs either. The best way to see how large to expect your girl to be is to know what the dam and sire looked like. Asterisk's parents were 60lbs for mom and 92lbs for dad. |
Well, I have a male, 3 and a half at 108 pounds and his half sister, 2 years old and 75 pounds. She looks small next to him. We call hher "the little one"  |
my boy is 9mths and 63lbs, a lady "kindly" told me that he is tiny!! he didnt have the best start in life, came from a puppy farm via a rescue, suffered malabsorbtion for a while. he is now fit and healthy, but i wonder if he can catch up? his dad was a big dog, dont know about the mother, i know size doesnt matter, but i would like him to fulfull his potential  |

| Patch is 112 pounds of love. She could stand to lose 12 pounds. She is a big girl, but thinks she is a chihuahua. |
| My current girl was around 58-60, but lately has bloomed to 64. Other girls have been in the 70's which is more typical. Couple were retired show girls, nicely square, just lovely. |

| One of my previous girls a rescue named Shaggy was a mere 45 pounds. Shaggy also suffered malnutrition early in life and I adopted her as a four month old 25 pound "puppy" at the shelter. Turns out she was actually an adult as she had all her adult teeth and the vet said she would gain but tend to stay at the small side. This is in answer to Guest question regarding his dog. Shaggy did gain 20 pounds eventually but as I mentioned her max weight was 45 for the rest of her life. She's been my only female OES while my other 4 were boys ranging in weight from 75 to 103. I believe neutering them also keeps the weight in check as males don't buff out if the alteration occurred early in their lives. |
| I have to pure OES My first girl Brittany was 100lbs of fuzzy love and laid back Beatrice was just to the vet for her 6 month check up and wieghed in at 56lbs -- the stated she as at her perfect weight. I guess i depends on each pup. |
