Congrats to you and your family!!! :D
As a novice, would it sound bad to ask if Crufts is a big dog show or some other type of competition?
When in 2004 will they be on TV?
Crufts, which is a yearly event held in the UK has been going for over 50 years and is widely held to be the World's Premier Show event. All breeds are represented, from our favourite Pastoral group, to Gundogs, Toy Dogs and everything in between!

I believe that competitors are invited from the US and Europe. It's all available on

It's on in the UK in March every year. I think from talking to other US posters that you guys get to see the highlights on either Animal Planet or the Discovery Channel.

Looking at the records, a sheepie has never one the coveted Best in Show, but an OES did achieve Reserve Best in Group last year!
Woof's mum (Disney) has now also qualified for Crufts! I might get to see them on TV!!
Wow! That is quite an achievement . Good luck to Baxter, Sister Rose, and Disney.

By the way, Woof looks pretty good himself! Does he always stay so clean? Or was that photo taken after a bath and grooming? I always take the photos after a bath unless it's just too good to pass up, like when Abbi dug up a tree I had just planted.
Thank you! (He may brush up nicely but I don't think he has the patience for a show!)

In answer to your question, yes, the avatar photo was taken just after Woof was brought back from his first professional grooming and bath (at just under a year old).

We probably groom him for 30 mins every day, and just make sure he has plenty of fresh water (as this helps as much as anything else to keep his beard nice and clean). He also likes going out in the rain - which (strangely) seems to work wonders with his coat!

Some less pampered pictures of family life are available at:

(if you haven't already seen them!)

We also qualified for Crufts this year and came a respectable second behind aforementioned Baxter. Well done! Cannot remember where rose came thought.
She came fourth I believe. well done to you too.

OES FOR BEST OF SHOW 2005!!!
