Is that the same 'Dog Days' that Stacy goes to? I know there is a 'Dog Days' somewhere close to Chicago? Is that right? |
I don't know. I'll be there with my two collies and Phoebe. I don't remember anyone being there last year. Because OES are really rare around me Phoebe was the center of attention. Especially with the bows in her hair. I really hope someone is there. We had one last Saturday at Two Bostons in Naperville and adopted out another two dogs. So far this year there has been a lot of fosters, it's so nice to see them go to good homes. Two Boston's is having another big even October 2nd. I don't know who to contact on this sight to get them involved. Yes this is close to Chicago |
This is different from the one Stacy goes to. I didn't even know about this event til I read this post. Cantigny is in Winfield, which is close to Wheaton, about 30 miles west of Chicago. |
Well I will be there and if we have any information that will help Rescue I would be please to print it and bring it along with me. Odd the card does say Wheaton |
Cantigny is in Wheaton ... on the border of Winfield. |
I will be here again this year if anyone is interest in me giving out information Phoebe will be with me too |
I didn't know about this either. I would have said Cantigny was in Winfield too and I grew up 1 mile from the park...although I would place the golf course in Wheaton It is a very odd area with unincorporated areas and weird town lines. If the weather is good we may stop by. Or if an oes rescue will be there and needs help let us know. |
Oh, wow - I saw two Chicagoland OES rescue people at the Wisconsin OES Specialty show this weekend. Wish I had seen this before I left for the show. PM me and I can give you Sally's contact info. She may have some material handy she'd be happy to have you distribute. OES are actually not all that rare in the Chicagoland area - there's a breed club, and a rescue - happens to be (basically) one and the same. Perhaps something you'd be interested in getting involved with? Kristine |

I live near Orland Park Illinois for over 20 years This year finally someone else in my neighborhood got an OES. I think they were jealous of me always walking mine. I do a lot of Collie rescue events almost all over Illinois. The only function I've ever seen a OES is Arlington and thre was only one poor lonely soul there. I always bring Phoebe with me I figure they are from the same country why not. No one from collie rescue cares she draws people to the booth anyway. I would love to see a rescue booth for the OES. A great event is the scarecrow fest in St Charles. Last year we had donations amounting to well over 250.00 This year we are building a collie scare crow. The phoeb's will there too. The highland games also had a great turn out even though it was as hot as can be. I would love to see a whole bunch of them in one spot. |
