Respond to this topic here on forum.oes.org
Val - very good thread!! :D

We are going - as in Chewie and I, daughter LeAnne and Martha. Breanna MAY also come too. After all, next year she will be a legal JR handler! :clappurple: Keith has given the OK for her to skip a week of school.... :D
Chewie is in herding, agility, obedience and rally.... Martha in herding.

For us it's 17 hours of drive time. We are leaving early Friday, or maybe even Thursday afternoon..(oh Kristine...), to get there Saturday evening.
The caravan will prabaly include Stephanie and Stephen (sneakiesheepie) from central MN, then join up with Kristine, Sunny and ??? in the Milwaukee area. Meet Judi and Val by the Cleveland, OH area, then continue on over.....hopefully!
Any more caravaners are welcome!

Lodging - we are staying at the LaQuinta Inns and Suites on the south side of Rochester. Closer to the show site than the host hotel and a bit cheaper as well. :D
- we have a block of rooms reserved until??? not sure. 585-272-7800, Group code #63.

For those who have, or even are considering, an OES, the Nationals are a great way to see OES doing practically everything they can do.
The site moves around every year, each region gets a chance to host. This year it is in the Rochester, NY area.
A rough schedule is:

Sunday, Sept. 19th - herding
Monday, Sept. 20th - agility
Tuesday, Sept. 21st - rally and obedience
Wednesday, Sept 22nd - set up for conformation
Thursday and Friday, 23-24th - conformation

There are also numerous other events going on - seminars, meetings, rescue parade, Top 20 competition, banquet, silent auctions, and lots of social get togethers!

Dawn...I agree that if there is any way any of you can attend...DO IT!!!!!

I was able to go to the Nationals in 2008 in Minnesota, and I was in heaven the whole time we were there!!! Seeing all those wonderful, happy, silly sheepdogs...meeting many of the owners, breeders, friends from the forum...

and.................so many more............................

COME ON YOU GUYS!!!!!......................IT IS SOOO MUCH FUN!!!!!!!
I'll be there starting Sunday & probably heading home Saturday. How early Sunday depends on how my week at work goes & where I am at getting my 2 bathed & brushed out. I am staying at the host hotel. Made my reservations back in January. My 2nd soft sided crate arrived today. DH said "Don't you already have one of these?" I said "Yes, but I have 2 dogs going to the national!" DUH! I am too old to haul the heavy metal crates in & out of the hotels anymore. Hauling in & setting up the wire crates for conformation is enough for me. I'll be one of the crazy ladies running all over the place. Just grab my arm & say "HI" to me! I haven't totally decided on entries yet but I'm helping in agility & obedience & rally as well as handling the banquet reservations & in charge of the conformation match on Thursday afternoon. Where are you guys meeting up in the Cleveland area? I am 45 minutes directly south of the turnpike exit 173.
Marilyn - not sure on details yet. My foster OES Otis (now Charlie) lives in Cleveland - and we have made tentative plans to stop and see them on the way out or way back.
Todd's brother lives in Heath - somewhere in OH as well, and I suppose we should meet him too.....

Obviously, Ohio is our stopping state!

Calling your long lost SLEEPING Wisconsinite friend demanding she drive booze up to you, I mean, Wisconsin is only right across the border and she's only five hours away

(Actually, I think that was probably Judi and I'm thinking they'd already MADE that first trip to Wisconsin by the time they called, but they swear no, so...?     )

Yes, I'm heading to NY. Val just pm'd me how many days away we are. Off to have an anxiety attack now thinking about everything I still have left to do! :twitch: :twitch: :twitch:

Thanks, Val! :P

Yes! Canadians very welcome! Also Canadian OES ;-) Even if they aren't entered in anything. This is a specialty, a big OES party.

Remind me, please - how old is Mady?

Kristine
Mady is almost 9 months now.

Rochester is a 5 hour drive away...

Excellent! Then you can enter her in the AHBA test/trial on Sunday. HCT1 - her first Herding Capability Tested leg, which is basic instinct testing. The tester tests her for you.

On Monday it's an OES only agility trial. There will be crating space for unentered dogs. Not that you can't have her with you. Tuesday is rally and obedience trials. Same deal. Wednesday, I think it is, there's a health seminar which looks really good - how to deal with medical emergencies in your dog. Wednesday evening is the Top 20 - very prestigious and elegant special conformation competition - dress up! Bring check book (or, at least that would be Val's advice - there's always a great raffle) Thursday and Friday are breed judging. Friday is also the rescue parade.

Bring a 3-5 generation copy of Mady's pedigree and donate blood (Mady's, not yours!) to the CHIC DNA repository to help with future OES health research. And, oh, stop by the annual match on Thursday afternoon to take part in a cheese & winetesting event while Marilyn/ChSheepdogs runs the annual match.

There will also be grooming and handling clinic where you can learn how to groom for showing and how to present your dog in the ring. Mady doesn't need to be aimed for the show ring for you to take part - it could be a great learning experience. I expect Judy and Val to take part in the handling clinic (did I mention that to them yet? Hm. Not sure :-) )

Short version: don't just come. Come to play!

Kristine
Don't forget to mention to people that Wednesday night's Top Twenty and Friday night's banquet are for uprights only. I like people to know what to expect as far as having to crate a dog in the hotel room.

Otherwise the stuff you are not participating in you are welcome to attend with your OES at your attentive side. They have a parade of rescues in the middle of the week that is always nice to see.

Here is the link of the week's schedule:

http://www.oldenglishsheepdogclubofamer ... edule.html
OK Val. As a New Yorker, I feel the need to set you straight. :D
You're going to Rochester, not New York City. :D
Just NYC is the Big Apple. There is a great big ol' state attached to NYC. :D
So get it right!!

(I'm just teasing.)

But it is funny because when I moved out to St. Louis and told everyone I was from Syracuse, NY, they looked at me with wide eyes and asked, "how can you stand living in such a BIG city". Of course I was confused because Syracuse is a tiny city. So I would ask and they all assumed I lived in NYC. I would tell them that were a state attached to the city. Pretty funny.
One person asked why I didn't talk like they did on TV. After a little prying, she thought everyone from New York State had the Brooklyn, NYC accent. I had to let her know that only people from NYC talk like people from NYC.

As far as your travel time, it should be less than 13 hours. Syracuse is 1.5 hours east of Rochester and I could make it from St. Louis to Syracuse in about 13.5 hours. So maybe 12-12.5 hours for your trip. Of course if you stop, that will slow you down.
So my question is; is Bricky welcome?
He has an OES brother? Does that count for anything?

I'm only 1.5 hours away (maybe less, maybe more, depending on which side of Rochester the events are) so I'd like to come out.
I'd want to get together will all the folks on the board. Which day is going to be the best for that?

Ya know what would be cool? Is for you guys to check out Brick to see his personality & temperament. That way, when I'm ready to adopt a sheepie, ya all could help me pick the right one.
Mark - I'm sure they will be faster.
Judi drives, and she has gotten a speeding ticket enroute to every Nationals she drives to!

Maybe we should start a betting pool to guess which state gets her this year??? 8)

There are other random breeds that show up with their OES siblings. Simon has been to a couple, also I have seen a Boston Terrier, Great Dane, some little fru fru - can't remember the breed, and Ali , the faux havanese has been there too I think.
A non-OES is welcome, but will definitely attract attention.

^^^ Ha, that'll show the world is upside down at this event! But I guess other dogs deserve there time in the sun as well!
Peter and I are camping on site. WE will have our fridge stocked if anyone wants to visit. :D Know all about those speeding tickets. Watch out for the traps on I90 between Buffalo and Rochester! Peter got one in MA on our way to that Specialty!  Apolo will be there with his new little sister which I will try to download some pics of. Her name is Hailey.
Can't wait to meet you Mary!!!!!

I think the BEST part of Nationals...outside of just watching all those wonderful sheepies, is meeting all the great sheepiepeople!!!!!!

We need to try to plan a FORUM evening!!! Wouldn't that be FUN?????? :clappurple: :clappurple:

We can all meet, face to face, sheepie to sheepie!!!
We're going just for fun and the experience. It'll be Owen's first show as a special so I'm excited to get back in the ring with him. I still haven't figured out which days that I'll be there yet. I wish the herding stuff was at the end so he could get nice and dirty and then just go home.

I'm coming in solo (just me and Owen) so I'll be happy to visit with all of you and your stocked fridges!
Well Jill...You and Owen are more than welcome to by the
Party Room..aka Judi and Val's room...  For some snacks and refreshments anytime you want!!!!!! :clappurple: :clappurple:

Where are you staying????
I just booked at the host hotel-- the Quality Inn. I was dragging my feet about making reservations so people asking who was going helped kicked me into gear.

Where are you guys at?

Another non-puker. :D Chewie never has either. If he puked I would have him at the vet, as something would really be wrong w/ him!
It's Heart's religion....if she DOESN'T throw up at least once a day....then I WOULD take her to the bet....

That's the day I would come out.
In 2008, we actually turned Top Twenty night (Wednesday) into forum night by cheering Val on at the Silent Auction and having wine and Twinkies in Val and Judi's room later. Ah, the memories! :yay:

The only thing we forgot to do is sing...koombya on Thursday evening...
Ah, you may be crazy but you were/are in good company. What's to live down? You wanted that bracelet and you got it! :yay: :yay: :yay:

Word to the wise: Never try to outbid Val !!!
I know....and I'm hoping she isn't looking for what I am looking for this year.
I should be safe though, it's NOT jewelry!
And I don't need a new toilet brush holder either!
Okay... another Canadian thinking of attending the Nationals, just for a few days. :cheer:

Hi, Amber.

You can get the premium right off the OESCA website as soon as it's up (webmaster very kindly said she'd let me know when it is as I'm a nag about it for performance reasons ;-) )

The closing date is Sept 1, so there's time.

It's 17 hours of driving time for us :? - see you there!
I have only been to one other US National (Michigan) and I must say I was so impressed!

I look forward to meeting everyone and seeing lots of sheepdogs! And Kim & David......you should both definately come too!

I have 4 dogs I would like to bring...I just have to see how many handlers I can bring with me. My two pups for sure (I LOVE showing puppies) and then these two girls I was just showing last week-end. I'll share some photos.

This is Rosalee. She is a year and a half. We need 1 more point for her Championship.

Just noticed that there is a Facebook page for the National. Do a search for "2010 OESCA National Specialty" and add your name to the list if you're attending.
I get to go to my first National! I am going to help my friend Ali with her 3 dogs, though I am sure I will be available at times for babysitting. I just loved how Kristine let me have all her dogs at Sheepiepalooza. I am also bring some of my Sheepie-Doodles stuff, though I don't have enough time or things to warrant an actual booth. Hopefully I will have a sample copy of my new calendar with me too.

I am so excited to meet people I never have yet, and to see old friends!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cheer: :yay: :excited:

Like, "Val, are you coming with?"
Perfectly normal MN phrasing! :D

Sadly, Mady wont be able to attend, we were thinking about it, but with the wedding and honeymoon, we're low on vacation and $$ this time around. :( We will be attending the smaller Canadian specialty at the end of October though.
OK guys.
What day should I come out?
Thursday or Friday?
I can be there around 12:30 PM either day.

Lay it on me.
What's the better day?
Gotta tell my boss real sson I want to take a partial vacation day.

Thanks.
Well, Thursday you will see sweeps & the boys judged. Friday you will see the girls & the specials judged. Depends on what you want to see more of. :lmt:
Any idea what time the rescue parade kicks off?
So what actually goes on at these 'Nationals'? How many two-legs and four-legs attend? At what kind of facility is it held? It all seems very mysterious to me.

It should be around noon on Friday :-)
The banquet is Friday night, so dinner might not work that night.

I pretty much gave up on organizing anything.
There were just too many conflicts with the show schedule.

What time does the banquet start?
the rescue parade is supposed to be some time around noon. It is between the girls and the second event on that day.

For most every breed of dog, the National club hosts an annual competition. It is liscensed by AKC, so it is also considered a regular show - wins count as points toward whatever title the event awards - obedience, show, etc.

OESCA (Old English Sheepdog Club of America) rotates the shows each year throughout the regions of the US, with each region taking turn playing host. Last year it was in California. This year New York, next year North Carolina. The host group finds the sites for the events. This year in NY there are actually 3 sites, all in the same area. Herding in one place, obedience, rally and agility in another, conformation in the 3rd. All are fairly close. 3 years ago in Michigan, there was no herding, and all the other events were held on the same grounds - so it can vary.

Here is a link to the OESCA site for the schedule: http://oldenglishsheepdogclubofamerica. ... edule.html

Some people come and enter only 1 event, some of us are more insane and enter many things.
Offered this year - herding, agility, obedience, rally, conformation and Jr Handling (for youth)
There also are meetings, seminars, special competitions (Top Twenty, Sweepstakes, etc), banquet with awards given from the previous year and this competition, blood drive, rescue parade. Events are spread out over the entire week to allow maximum participation.

I don't have numbers on the entries and humans - there are several here who are more in the know about that stuff. Kristine, Marilyn, any one?? It's big though!

Also, just as a side note - other breeds who do different things have different events. I grew up with Brittanys. We had hunting classes (field trials) instead of herding tests! And my friends with Samoyeds do all the same as the OES, but in addition have pack hikes (a competitve event with rules) and weight pulls. They REALLY have a packed nationals with tons to do.
Thanks Dawn...Great details on the Nationals...

BUT you forgot TWO things

...They have a humongous and stupendous SILENT AUCTION!!!! With GOBS and GOBS of SHeepiestuff!!!!!
The bestest of the best!!!!!

and ....

you get a chance to see the TOP Old English Sheepdogs from all over the country, many who have been or are going to be at Westminister!!!!

I just love watching them prance around or !!!

so wonderful!!!!!!
:clappurple: :clappurple: :clappurple:
So it is only sheepies???? My God I don't know if my heart could stand it-I can barely cope with the wonderful forum pictures and videos. Please folks take many pictures, post on the forums so those of us who can't attend can live through you. Does this mean that the Canadian one in October is only sheepies too? How will I cope? If we hadn't spent our money on the darn wedding...
YES !!! KIM!!!!

Sheepies as far as the eye can see!!!!!!!!!!!!

The thing that I enjoyed most about Nationals (and I have only been to one so far~~~)

The Performance events!!!!!!

Agility???????????????????????ALL SHEEPDOGS !!!!
Obedience??????????????????? ALL SHEEPDOGS!!!
Rally???????????????????????ALL SHEEPDOGS!!!

Amazing!!! just seeing a SEA of SHEEPIES !!!! And when they get together...boy!!! do they all have fun!!! And us humans have a blast watching our sheepdogs having a BLAST!!!!!!!

Conformation is more reserved and dignified...they all know why they are there and it is awesome to see those wonderous, beautiful sheepdogs glide around the ring!!!!!!!

One day you really need to attend...it is so amazing!!!!!!!! and fun!!!!!
The Canadian Specialty is held in conjunction with an all-breed show, so there are all breeds there, unlike the US Nationals where it is OES only. Honestly, everyone MUST attend a US National in their lifetime. It is truly unlike anything I have ever attended here in Canada. This will be my second time attending, and I am so excited.

I believe you are referring to Patch as the TOP Old English Sheepdog in the US, or probably in the world. She not only prances but dances with that huge butt - she is one of a kind. I will probably need to hire body guards to protect her from cameras and the press. I am usually modest about this, but since you brought it up I thought I'd let the Forum know about her star status. She will be giving pawgraphs.
We watched the movie 'Best in Show' last night so I am all up to speed on the dog show stuff! Dumb question, I am sure, but how would a North American dog show at a British competition? Don't they have strict quarantine rules there? Did they drop those rules or do they make an exception for show dogs?
I can answer THAT one!! :D

About 8 years ago the quarentine for the UK was traded for the pet passport scheme. You have to have a microchip, rabies shot, and then some months later a titer test sent to one of 2 labs in the USA. Once the titer report is acceptible, you may then go into the UK without quarentine.

There are certain airlines that will fly dogs into the UK but it is VERY DIFFICULT........and EXPENSIVE !!

Our Delilah qualified a few years ago when she won her FCI Championship in Mexico. Norm was working oversea's that year, so for our 'rondevous' point, we decided to go to the UK to CRUFTS with Delilah!

I flew overnight from Dallas into Paris France, where Norm met us. We rented a car and drove to the CHUNNEL entrance. We were about 5 hours too early due to the 'tick and parasite' requirement, we hired a room at a nearby hotel and sort of slept it out. We were ALL tired!
Then, we loaded us up into the small car and had Delilah 're-scanned' for her microchip........got the green light and Okay and UP on the back of a railroad auto transport we went! I think it was 2:30 in the morning... There were 8 cars on our 'railcar' and once in our place, everyone got out of the car's (except Dee) and we all talked and walked about! About 30 minutes more or less, we were under the English Channel and UP on the otherside driving right out into the beautiful English Countryside!

We stayed with a friend of ours in Dulverton for about a week, then drove up to our rented cottage "Pear tree Cottage" just south of where Crufts is held in Birmingham. This was Shakespear's wifes homeplace and a marvelous B*B we will ALWAYS go back to!

Showing at Crufts is like no other, Expocan in Mexico City is very closely like it....... it goes on for 10 STRAIGHT DAYS......... but is is something to be able to say "I DID THAT" showing on that Green Carpet! And Delilah came home with a wonderful award too.

It is now a shame that our dogs cannot show there anymore as we continue to dock so we are discriminated against being able to show there.

i'll try to post pictures of Dee in the UK
ok...now you have done it,,, Ali..... ""SHE"" doesn't have a BIG enuff head ~~you have to go and blab that HER momma was at KRUFTS!!!!!

(she has now kicked Dino off the couch and he is laying on the floor at her feet....))

The only thing I can say is....when I see you at Nationals...I will be 'handing her off' to her momma Ali....maybe...just maybe, Dee will 'slap' some sense in her!!!!!!!!

Hoping to attend for at least a few days. Hubby wants to bring both Oakley and Sydney but Oakley who was diagnosed with spondylosis last year is still a little touchy with other dogs. I need some advice from other members who will be attending. Should I bring both sheepies or should Oakley have a "stay at home vacation"?
I guess it all depends on how long the trip will be. I won't be taking Pearl (didn't take her 2 years ago either)..too long of a drive and to be honest I didn't think she would enjoy it as much as Heart does. If and when the Nationals are closer, I have every intention of taking her!!! I am sure many other member will respond..
Wow, so we could actually take Mady to the U.K. if we wanted to go for a longer visit? This changes EVERYTHING!! I am imagining walking on the moors, or through the heather, or on the dales or any of those romantic places I read about in books, with my Mady by my side. Now if you tell me that I can bring her into pubs, my life will be complete. As for nationals, where is the one after this year? North Carolina? I have to figure out where that is, too. Too bad we can't get our act together for this year, as it is relatively close. Ok, off to google Crufts to see what that is!
Several years ago, we took a girl we were mentoring in the breed along with us to her 1st OESCA national show. We co-owned a dog with her & he lived with her. We had finished her boy & I got to show him as a special in BOB so she had a vested interest in the show. Afterward, when the show was over, I asked her what she thought about the national. She said her favorite part was BOB. She went up onto the "balcony" so she could see better & take pictures & she said that when they started calling the specials into the ring & each one followed the next around the ring...well she said it just took her breath away. I remember going to my 2nd national back in 2000 with my boy. He had finished his Ch a couple of months earlier. I entered him as a special. Lucky me.....the 1st time I ever took a special into the BOB ring & I had the 1st number!!!!! There were 80 specials entered that year. I remember the ring being literally packed with OES for that class.

YEP!! But it takes work and doesn't happen overnight! We are talking months to get the tests done and thy have to be done in an EXACT ORDER!!!
Now if you tell me that I can bring her into pubs, my life will be complete.
Tell your hubby to start saving now. CRUFTS IS NOT CHEAP!!!!

The shopping is to die for!!!

After BOB was finished, Norm and Dee and I drove back to our wonderful abode, and then walked up the street WITH Delilah and into the pub and had shephard's pie and my favorite a puffy pastry topped beef pie......... with Dee at our feet, and all the locals looking and oooohing and ahhhh ing over her, all of the sudden they did a double take as we were on the tv with Delilah (as they were watching Crufts and we had done a quick "hi we're from the USA" that day) whey they were just going back and forth looking........ it was kinda neat..... They couldn't believe there was a CRUFTS BOBTAIL in their pub!!

But i have to admit, we don't smoke, and the tobacco smell was heavy............. and it got into her hair too.... :( :(
As for nationals, where is the one after this year? North Carolina?
Yep, gorgeous country!

And the year after, 2013 it is in St. Louis!!!! At the wonderful new Purina Farms Facility!!! I think there are sooo many people REALLY EXCITED about this new facility as it will have EVERYTHING RIGHT THERE!!!!
I think that, like here in Canada, the U.K. has no smoking in pubs now. As for Missouri, I have to figure out where that is. I learn so much because of having Mady and these forums, I guess I will be able to add U.S. geography to the list!

I agree - geography skills have improved here too!

The 2012 Nationals would probably be closer - they are in Wisconsin. I'm not sure where you are in Cananda - not listed on your profile info....
We are in Ottawa, smack in the dead centre of the country. Need to figure out how to fix my profile!
Mapquest said 16 hrs.... Ottawa ON to West Bend, WI

And you are REALLY close to NY/Rochester, really too bad it doesn't work. :( :(

And just for kicks I plugged in NC - and it's virtually the same distance for you as to WI. Funny 8)

IMO, I would leave Oakley home if that is a consideration for you. We have 2, and we'll be leaving our shy one at home. I've taken her to several OES events and she never seems to enjoy being around all of the other people & dogs, so I won't be worrying about how uncomfortable she will be this time...
Hello folks,

We just signed up for the Rescue Parade. I have business in western NY earlier that week so we will check in Monday pm and recover from the drive from Boston. Still trying to fnalize appointments but sounds like a good idea to get forum members together sometime that week.

Bye for now,

Joan (and Ron and Mulligan)

Thanks so much for the info, Ali! That certainly will be worth the drive.

What a nice entry.....it's double that of last year's specialty!!! The club is fortunate to have Christina Bailey judging!

These numbers, too, are prelimary, but the complete performance counts:

PERFORMANCE

Herding: 26 (to date - max 30, closes day of, instinct testing full)
Obedience: 20 (including 8 Nov B and 4 Nov A)
Rally: 28
Agility: 54 (20 dogs, 54 runs)
------------------
Total: 128

Record breaking. Now, part of that is because it's back East again where entries are always higher. But these numbers are nonethless extraordinary for these events :-)

See you guys in just over two weeks!

Kristine
Thanks has to go to you Kristine too for those performance tallies for all of your never ending encouragement. I did enter Frank in Rally btw, with no formal training, it should be interesting to see if we can even qualify... At the very least, maybe we'll give everyone a good laugh. 8)

Okay Kristine, so there WILL be someplace to Bath these guys after herding Instinct Test for the Performance events later in the week ???? I'm starting to feel like i entered something like i shouldn't have......
Ali - good point. You're not the only one who has herding entries who are also doing breed so I expect others will have the same question.

I'll confirm, but as I recall from the schematic that denotes the lay out of the main show site itself there was an area (room? I don't have it in front of me) that said bathing area. I'll find out. Too, I'll find out what kind of surface the testing takes place on. That can make a huge difference.

I work some of my guys every week and unless it's raining/snowing they're no worse for the wear, really. But then again I'm not running them into a breed ring without a bath first either ;-) Nor do I, gasp, expect Heart to run into the agility room the next day looking anything but pristine, so I'll see what the fairgrounds possibly has to offer as well in terms of bathing facilities.

Will get back to you ASAP.

Oh, good! :clappurple: :clappurple: :clappurple:

Then at least Macy won't be alone <snicker>

In fact, I woke up this morning cataloging everything she doesn't know yet and wondering how much I can teach her in two weeks...

Did I give you the link to the rally regs? http://www.akc.org/pdfs/rulebooks/RO2999.pdf

Skip to page 127, that's where rally starts. But then skim to the end where the rally signs are explained (study novice only) I'm going to see if I can put them into a new post in the advanced behavior section. Too, I'm hereby volunteering Dawn to join the novice walk-thru with everyone to be on hand to explain signs as needed (hi, Dawn! 8) )

Kristine
Yes, I can be a living, breathing tutorial....

It really is NOT that hard. If my wimpy Riley can get his RN in 3 shows, anyone can do this!

It's a great way to enter something and start working toward a title. :D :D

Nope.......it's gonna be us
oh.........I don't know!!!!!

Heart is well known in the Rally ring here is St. Louis, for leaving her common sense, coordination and more importantly,......HER BRAIN...in her pink plaid crate!!!!
if anyone needs a place to bath their dogs after the herding there are two do it yourself places in the area. One is in Brockport about 1/2 hour from the grounds and there is another in East Rochester also about 1/2 from the site. I usually go to the one in Brockport but they were closed this past Saturday. Went to East Rochester instead. There it is one flat price 20 bucks. Brockport charges by the weight of the dog. If anyone wants any more infor you can PM me.
WOW!!! Great info Gail!!!! Thanks :clappurple: :clappurple:

Great!
Can you post the names/addresses so I can put it in Charmin (the Garmin :D )? It may be needed.....
these are the sites www.banditsbathhouse.com/ in east rochester and www.adogwash.com in Brockport. The whitening shampoo is better in East Rochester. I dried Bella in the tub since they don't charge you by how long you use the tub area. They do charge extra if you are longer that 30 min on the grooming table. I didn't use that since I didn't need to trim her. There are really nice table those. Powered to go up and down .....really nice and they even had the dryers with the arms and those with the flexible tubes that you can use while they are on the tables.

Thank you so much!! Having local people is so darn helpful!! :clappurple: :clappurple: :clappurple:
OK...when there is an opportunity I would like a photo op. Those who are willing and available, I would like to be buried up to my neck in OES so that I may use the photo on my website. Just putting it out there.
That would be hilarious!

Sybil and Mace are in! They'll be so happy to see you again anyway.

KB
Kristine...your dogs alone would bury me. :D I can't wait to see everyone again.
Heart will be there, Wendy...along with, I am sure,,,,her partner in crime, Harry AND her bro and sis!!!!! ........AND MOMMADEE!!!!!!!!! :clappurple: :clappurple: :clappurple:

Dogpile on Wendy!!! Really!!! :D
Hi,

Well Mulligan had another neck problem a few days ago after another short ride in the car. His issues seem to have come after car rides; we don't know if it is the way he stands or lies down or is excited or what.

Since the nationals are a 7hour+ Car ride and since we are trying to calm the problem down, we have decided to keep Mulligan at home with Daddy. Joan had arranged business in Rochester that week, so she will still be traveling there. I haven't yet asked her if she's planning on attending any OES events while there.

:-(

Well, that really bites... :( :(

I understand the concern. If car rides are a possible trigger, a 7 hr drive is out of the question.
Hope Mulligan feels better soon.
You can't imagine just how terribly disappointed I am.

I wasn't sure that I was going at first, then when we decided to go I was getting all ramped up for it. sigh
