I have absolutely NO idea what you just wrote there, but you seem super excited and I think that I can see your smile all the way up here in Canada, so it must be something good! (Except that oops oops oops bit at the end, in Canada oops usually means, well, oops!)
Congratulations Heart

:clappurple: :clappurple: :clappurple: :clappurple:

You made your momma proud

Lisa and Frankie
Mady, lol

I too always just assume it's good and am proud of all that Heart has done!
Sorry..Mady/Jo...

I have been in the Rally Excellent ring 5 or 6 times with us NOT qualifying which means that she did not get a score of at least 70 points (from 100).

The oops...was because I have been in the ring 5 or 6 times and I have not qualified too many times to count!!!!!   :|

Each time we qualify equals 1 leg...I need 3 legs to get a title and go one to RAE which is the top title for Rally....So I have just gotten my first leg in RE, I need 2 more to title.

I hope this clears it up for you...and again...sorry!!!
But thanks for the support!!!!!! :clappurple: :clappurple:
Congrats Heart!!! Congrats Val!!!!!

Pretty soon you two will be onto your RAE2 like Chewie :D :D :D

Another OES getting out there and doing GREAT things .....so WONDERFUL!!!
Ah...................I see her brains returned today! Congratulations!
I would love to see Heart in action. Google needs to forget Google Earth and launch Google sheepies!
:clappurple: :clappurple: Heart (and Val) did a great job!!!! :clappurple: :clappurple:

It was a tough judge today and his even tougher (witchier) wife yesterday.

I was holding my breath because Heart and Val have not had their best days in sync with each other since entering Excellent but they worked together beautifully. Heart thought about a few sits but she executed everything without having to redo things.

As they were heading to honor I quickly walked by the steward's table to see their score - an 84! Woo Hoo!!! I knew their honor wouldn't disqualify them but I couldn't tell Val until they got out of the ring.

They just needed a day when they were both in the same Rally sphere.

Good job guys. :clappurple:
YIPPEE :clappurple: :clappurple: :clappurple: :clappurple:
HEART, WE KNEW YOU COULD DO IT!!!
:yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!

:clappurple: :clappurple: :clappurple:
:excited: :excited: Well!! Since Harry hasn't posted, I WILL...Harry did really, really good on Sunday and Q in both Rally EX and ADVANCE!! As Judi said, the judge on Saturday was a nightmare!!! The judge on Sunday was still tough, but he was more fair.

But Judi was able to hold his interest and he was with her in mind and spirit!!

It was a good day for both of the puppers...and they did get their hot, fresh hamburgers on the way home!!!!!! ...so they were VERY happy, as were their exhausted moms~~~~ 8O 8O :? :?
Who were your judges?
congrats to all!!!!

No .... NO .... NO! He did passably both days in Advanced. But he did badly both days in Excellent. He LOST 29 points in the Excellent ring on Sunday. My heart was pounding through the entire Honor that he wouldn't break because I saw that we had lost 29 points as I was putting his leash on to go to Honor. I realized one screw up on the Sit - Right Step Call Your Dog - Sit. He was misinterpretting my "stay" hand signal for a "stand" hand signal in the ring. He was fine outside the ring. I realized this when he did it again in the Advanced ring and so I did a redo and just used my voice. But HE REFUSED to do some exercise in Excellent. I cannot remember which one.

ABSOLUTELY NOT TRUE!!! I don't know where you were sitting Val but Harry checked out every drool spot on the floor left by the Rottweiler before him in hopes it was a treat left specifically for him. He was busy looking around the ring when we were heeling instead of at me.

I was at my wits end with him by the end of the weekend. :(

I might be the most INEPT Agility handler but I am a very GOOD Rally handler. I know all of my signs and perform them very precisely - know where I am supposed to be in relation to the signs - like in front of it for change of direction, know to pause in heel position for every stationary exercise, know to do my pie plates for pivots and steps for steps. Totally understand the differences between about turns and pivots. I don't think I have ever gotten signs confused. I don't clap or whistle. I am very confident about how to maneuver the rally course.

Harry knows all of the signs and does all of them well except the Stop and Down and the Moving Down Walk Around Dog. He even performs some them with real flair.

But I never know what Harry I am going to take into the ring AND more often than not it is Impulse Control Harry.

I don't know what to do. :(

Rose Doan on Saturday and her husband Harold Doan on Sunday from Ft. Lauderdale ... although I think they are probably transplanted from the East Coast based on her accent.

I heard some people say she was a very good Obedience judge but a very difficult Rally judge.

I wondered if she thinks Rally is inferior in skill to Obedience. Or more likely thinks it is far too lenient on its exhibitors. I can certainly tell the people who have competed in Obedience first . They have much more precise dogs. The thing I had a problem with is that it was practically an all or nothing point system. She took off everything in 10 point increments it seemed.

On top of the judges Marilyn the facility where we went is way too small. After they set up the rings there is no where for people to crate or even walk. Not a good situation.

I probably wouldn't trial there in the future.
Heck, Judi... I'd take passable! Then again, we're NO where near ready to compete in ANYTHING yet!!

Congratulations, Heart! Congratulations, Harry!
Hey Judi! You qualified, didn't you? Sometimes you have to be happy with that. Harry has no idea if he scored 100 or 70. Some days are not as good as others. If you try to make your boy too perfect, he's going to shut down on you totally. I have seen it happen before. This needs to be FUN for him. If it's not fun a dog sees no reason to waste time doing it. It doesn't have to be silly fun but there has to be a positive reason for him. The most positive reason for him is that he made you happy. There again, he has no idea how happy, just happy. So act happy for him & try to think of how to get into his head to achieve the results you are looking for.
Well.  ..I knew Judi would oppose my 'take' on Harry in the Rally ring, but where I was sitting on Sunday, he may have had his nose to the mat at various times, BUT when she called him to 'get close' he was right there!!!! 8-O 8-O

Harry has the most beautiful stand, and I love his 'front to left heel postion~~ he kind of does this joyful turn and hop!!! It is so endearing!!!! :aww: :aww: :aww: :aww:

Anyway, through these 'novice, newbie' eyes~~I enjoy watching them in the ring and only hope that one day, we will do as good!!!! :clappurple: :clappurple:
I have kept up the positive attitude for Harry - I made a big deal and treated him as soon as we left the ring.

I am not trying to make him perfect either ..... cooperative would be nice.

OK. Just checking
WAY TO GO HEART!!!!!!!! We knew that you guys could do it. I have had tons of flubbs this year in the show ring and although it can be a little discouraging I try to take it and stride and consider them learning experiences to fix what I or he mixed up. Your hard work has paid off.....brag a little more especially since it was a tough judge. It always feels better to get that score when you know you have those tuff judges :clappurple: :clappurple: :clappurple:

Thanks Judi. I like to keep track of things like this so as not to waste time or money in the future. More important in comformation, to weed out the really political judges or ones that you know don't like your style of dog. But I have done so in obedience & rally too. I had one back in April. Judge was nice but the course she set up for Novice was attrocious! I showed the floor plan to my trainer (who is herself an AKC obedience & rally judge & has one of the top Goldens in the country) & she couldn't believe it. It was a horrible lay-out for a big dog. You started out taking a few steps to a sit/halt. Then a few more steps to call your dog to front , sit & finish. Next sign was 1 step halt, 2 step halt, 3 step halt. Next one was call your dog to front, 1 step back halt, 2 steps back halt, 2 steps back halt. And the was just the 1st 3rd of the course! That was 8 halts & sits to start with, not counting some of the others later on. "And you wondered why Mariah didn't want to move??????" is what my trainer said! That judge went on my DNST (do not show to) list. Way too many stations in a small ring. Great if I'd had a Papillon. Not so great for an OES. None of the big dogs did well in that ring.
Judy, I'm sure it only looked and felt painful to you.
That's what LeAnne tells me, anyway! :cow:
:clappurple: :clappurple:
Way to go girls!
Congrats!
