Aawww, Jaci, you're a doll. I just wanted to say that you don't have to necessarily live in Minnesota to help the rescue, Nance also needs help with transport and home visits. I'm the only volunteer that lives close to Illinois and Iowa, so I have a lot of ground I can cover! |
And I'm full up with our 6 and foster Harley. And having our 3 grandkids here for daycare every day kind of limits options too. Bre is good, but Will is just 2 and Norah 6 months. We are FULL! |
Of course we all thought of Down on Dawn's farm.....but completely understand the No Room in the Inn sign. |
Yes, Dawn and Erin are already doing a lot for rescues... know that you're appreciated! There just aren't many OESs in my neck of the woods that need to be fostered. Actually, I've never heard of any. But I thought I'd give fostering a try a few months ago when a local animal control had shy standard poodle-mixes at different times. But each time I wrote, the dogs had already been placed. Though I've never fostered, I did attempt too! But that doesn't quite count, does it. I hope people who might not have given fostering much thought might consider giving it a try. If you have any questions about fostering, please don't hesitate to ask. You are needed! |
Nance knows that Cindy and I are always up for fostering.... Whats a thousand miles Midwest is doing awesome work and anybody that can help should know they would be helping some nice dogs and a wonderful group! |
Nance and I have talked a bit this week, as there's an OES down by me needing a new home. The conversation started out with "how many dogs do you have now Dawn?" She knows w/ my 6 I realistically can only foster one extra dog at a time. And we have Harley, who will most likely be a permanent foster until he dies. He's a sweetie, but at his age it is too much to ask him to adjust to a new home again. At age 11 it just about put the poor guy over the edge. He will have been here a year at the end of August. |
Dawn - thought it wouldn't be helpful immediately because she's coming down to WI twice in the next few weeks, so bad timing, I'll speak to Gale about it. Don't know if it's something she'd feel comfortable doing, but how perfect.... KB |

At 1st I was thinking transport, when really you were talking fostering.....oh my, I need caffeine! I agree - it would be a WONDERFUL idea! |
Geeze I am down to 4 dogs.........wish I were closer. I have not had a sheepdog foster in........forever I think. |
