Sure they can. They just need to be supervised, as a puppy can be rowdy and knock the little ones over. My grandson is 2 now, and has been at our house for daycare since he was little. And they have Chewie's sister Martha, and now a young cattledog who's a rescue and never was a housedog. Will learned to walk and just push his way through the herds. He also is good at using his arms and hands to deflect all the puppy kisses! We (mostly Todd - it's his unemployed grandpa job) do daycare for our other daughter's little girl as well. She has been coming to our house of 6 dogs and a foster since was a baby, and is now 6 months. She does tummy time on the floor on her blanket, all the dogs and the cat love her and often lay with her. |
That is so good to hear. I guess I am just overly paranoid. I don't want him to be hurt/scared by her as she is very boisterous! I also wondered about the toy situation. How do I distinguish between khloe toys and baby toys. |
^^ Always telling the dog no. They eventually get it. We tell the kids not to play with the dog toys but only b/c we have more than 1 and it gets them barking since the kids aren't playing WITH the dogs... just w/their toys. With that said, I've had many of slobbery dog toys end up in my baby's mouth. I'm sure there will be worse in her mouth (although not sure how much worse) I agree with just the supervising. You get to know your dog and what will trigger them to dash full force ahead (and baby in the way), etc. Either way, there will be 100 close calls. |
