You would go along way to find a more cuddly affectionate dog. Woody is truly as beautiful on the inside as he is on the outside and in each and everyway he is just adorable. Woody loves his walks and he loves everyone he meets and will always make time for a big fuss. He loves his food but sadly as Woody has a problem with his liver his diet is limited so we make up for it by giving him lots more cuddles which he adores.Woody is looking for a very loving home with a family who will give him lots of tlc. He is suitable to live with children aged 8 years and over and he is a really good boy with other dogs. When you meet Woody you wouldn’t realise he has been through a lot in his life as he is such a loving chap who would be cuddled all day if you let him and he will sit next to you and give you his paw just to get more fuss. If you are looking for a big gentle loveable lad then Woody could be the dog for you and he will make a very loving faithful friend for life. There is a $40 rehomeing fee to the right home. |

Thanks Jaci.... I emailed them yesterday and again a few minutes ago. He does look awfully handsome I am not sure what the liver issue is but, when we adopted Wilby at the age of 4 he had VERY high liver enzymes. They were never normal but, he lived a very happy, healthy 8 more years with us! So, if anybody is looking, I wouldn't let a hopefully easy controlled condition stop you! |
I'll second that liver comment. When Portage was eight he bloated, and we got him to the emergency room for surgery in time. The emerg vet came out and said that his liver was a horrible mess, and that she'd never seen anything that bad. I asked if she was saying it was cancer, and she said she was nearly sure it was, but that there was something else it could be. She said the "something else" (nodular hyperplasia) was ugly looking but benign, and no one ever really saw it since it didn't cause problems or death, so no one would ever go in looking for it. What did we want to do? We said biopsy it, finish the surgery, and we'll take him home and love him up for whatever time he had left. Days, weeks...we weren't ready to say goodbye. She took a cubic inch chunk off to test, and two weeks later we got the news...benign. We monitored his numbers and they were always on the high side, but he passed away four years later...and that had nothing to do with his liver. So I agree...the liver issue may be very easily managed. And he sure looks like a sweetie. Someone's going to have a great addition to their family! |
Thanks again, Kathy! It's been a about a year since Meesha was diagnosed with a small liver. Her ALT was real high and has not returned to normal but it's much lower... it's been staying around 180. We all do the best we can! Some dogs you just fall in love with without ever meeting. He sounds like such a wonderful boy... he deserves an equally wonderful family. Our holistic vet said that the special ones are often some of the best ones Quote: We said biopsy it, finish the surgery, and we'll take him home and love him up for whatever time he had left. That's our perspective too. We found out about Meesha's problem through a blood test for something else, then did an x-ray which showed a very small liver. Her numbers were too high at the time to biopsy. They later came down, but not to normal, so we continue with diet changes and Denamarin. |
