Small Sheepdog

My sheepdog Mackenzie is 8 months old and currently weighs about 45 pounds. She has hardly grown at all in the past 3 months (maybe 5 pounds during that time). Do you think she will continue to grow? She is not a big eater at all, but still has tons of energy. Both her parents are over 75 pounds so I thought she would be about the same. We are starting to get use to the idea of a small sheepie.

Max, who is about 20 months, is only 55 pounds, and wont be any bigger. Another rescue I have is about hte same height and only weighs about 50 pounds. I"m not sure how it relates to the paretns, but Im sure he's healthy as can be, just a little smaller....
My last Sheepie was only 55 pounds at full growth. Remember, there is a very wide range of weights for sheepdogs. Pooh is 9 months and 65 pounds. Probably slowing down now even though they grow until about 18 months old.
As long as the dog is healthy, there is probably nothing to worry about. My girl Dancer is only 45 lbs at 15 months old... but my other dog is 9 months and 55 lbs and eats like a horse...who knows....
Samantha was 45 lbs when we adopted her at 6 months....at 13 months she weighs about 75.
out of curiosity, i started marking tecumseh's growth on the wall where i used to mark the kids

in one week, he grew 2 inches and gained 2.5 lbs

he's 13 lbs at 8 weeks
Wow... lol... that's fast!
lol anyone know where to purchase a cheap horse trough? at this rate i think im gonna need one lol
What do you feed her. You might want to try something like Ukanuba premium. Although her weight is on the small side now she will inevitably put on more.
There is a huge variance of size. I have 4 and all of them are large.95lbs and up. Mine are all from the same breeder and she generally had larger dogs.
MO, the little dog on the left in the avatar is 55 lbs.........and a wild bundle of energy. Harry, the other dog is a ??? and about 85 lbs.....mostly legs. Little dogs are fun even if you have to bend over more to give them hugs.

Yes, but they can also climb in your lap for cuddles more easily, and less painfully for you!
Isn't that the truth! When one of mine jumps in your lap it's like an elephant :D
