Tiggy was a bad, bad girl yesterday

My Mom and a friend of hers came to stay for a couple of days yesterday. Tiggy always gets super excited when we have visitors but she's extra silly when its my Mom.

Yesterday she decided to resource guard my Mom from Rastus. :cow: This is new behaviour.
First she growled a little at him when he tried to get too close and got in big trouble from me. Problem is she doesnt really care when she gets in trouble. A lady at the offlead park put it perfectly when she called her "completely unabashed".

So I put her in her pen (I use it instead of a crate) till she settled down.

All was going well till we sat at the island bar to have some coffee and cake. Rastus IS a big scavenger so he butted in between the stools to see if he could beg some food. Tiggy didnt like him pushing in beside my Mom so she growled at him, he snapped at her, she had a go back.

It wasnt even a dog fight, just a little growl and snap from her. She got in trouble again  and I put her back in her pen. When I went back to my coffee I found blood all over the floor and all up the side of the island bar. 8O 8O

Tiggy caught the edge of Rastus's ear when she snapped. He has a pierced ear 8O  8O The hole is right the way through. It bled and bled and the rotter kept shaking his head so there are blood splats EVERYWHERE including the pale yellow rug. I ran around after him trying to keep up but we were going out and I had to get ready so in the end I gave up.

The rug's not too bad and I can get it cleaned if necessary. The living room looked a bit gross when I got home, more blood on the floor and when he had a drink his ear dripped in the water bowl so there was all blobs of coagulated blood in the bowl. YUK!!

Rastus ear is all scabbed up and looks fine this morning. I dont think its bothering him at all, he is too busy licking any blood spots he finds in the rug

Miss Tiggy is going through a "too big for her boots" phase at the moment. My Mom says its because the cold weather has given her lots of energy and there is something in that. But also we've had heaps of rain  so even though I've walked them both every day we havent done an agility class for 5 weeks now, only little bits of indoor training. I think I'm going to have to do more indoor work to keep Madame's brain tired out so she cant come up with all this bossy boots nonsense.

Oh yeah and she destroyed the fantastic orange plastic plate that I used for target practice the other day. She loves target and was so happy that she ran and pounced on it. The plate cracked right across the middle and the next time I put it down her big pounce completely smashed it in half. Now I need to find something else as a target.

Awww
poor Rastus. I hope he's doing better today. They sure can be a hand full can't they.
I've been thinking about a second dog, and thats exactly why I keep talking myself out of it.

Tiggy Tiggy Tiggy.

Lisa and Frankie
Is that why they call them "Bitches" ???????????? :lmt:

Naughty Tiggy 8) :P Syd will put you in your place. 8)
hydrogen peroxide on the carpet. Yeah, bloody ears are the pits, they are so hard to stop the bleeding. Maybe leaving was the best solution. :?
poor Rastus....and poor Tiggy!!!

It's hard to share your people, isn't it Tig??????...BUT Auntie Val still loves you to bits!!!! :ghug: :ghug: :ghug:
Is the little miss a bit big for her britches?

Simon guards me at times. I just tell him to knock it off...sometimes he listens.

Well, that's a new one! Sybil just eats hers

Any old plastic lid will do and make sure you have a clear one in the collection as you'll eventually want to wean her off the target, depending on what you're working on.

As for poor Rastus...will you be getting him an earring for that pierced ear? Maybe get him a nice big stud so the next time the little darling decides to chomp on his ear she gets a nice little surprise of her own!

Bitches

Oh Tiggy! We can't blame her that she was a tad jealous of her favorite people. I can relate to the ear wound and shaking - it always looks worse and I feel for you. Hope things settle down.

I was thinking of an earing for the pierced ear too.

Poor Rastus.
I must admit that it crossed my mind to find a nice chunky stud for Rastus's ear. :) He would look very butch.
But then I remembered the pics on the net of the punk cat with all the piercings and figured the RSPCA would not be impressed. So I refrained.

The good news it his ears are a bit raggedy anyway from all the silliness he engaged in as a puppy. We were always freaking people out at the offlead park because he loved to chase and wrestle when he was a youngling and ears bleed lots and it looks bad on a white dog. :D

His ear is fine today. Just a scab but not redness or swelling.

Mmmm, well she already ate all the icecream and yoghurt tub lids that I tried. That's why I'd moved to a plastic plate, I figured it wouldnt smell tasty. Back to the drawing board.
