Has anyone tried this? It is supposed to cut down on the non stop barking(Garfunkel). I think it emits a high pitched sound when a dog is barking. Randy wanted to get one of those collers that shock the dog when it barks and I said NO. We tried the spray bottle and it worked...for a few seconds. Randy heard the commercial on the BarkOff and asked if we could try that. So shouting to get him to hear me over Garfunkel's barking, I agreed. It works. The first few times I had a couple of confused dogs who couldn't figured out what was happening. I felt sorry for Simon who had to hear it and was a little bothered by it. Garfunkel figured it out pretty quickly and its been a lot quieter in our house. I even take it outside with me when both are out there because it has been pretty barky(Gar again) out there. Garfunkel non stop barked at anything, a person walking, kids bicycling, a bird/rabbit/squirrel, the wind. Now we here one, maybe two barks and he stops. Its a lot cheaper then getting your dog debarked..which had crossed our minds. The next step is the car, where Simon is the problem. |

I've not heard of it over in Aus. But it sounds like its worked quickly and its a better option than debarking IMHO. |
I've been getting about 10 SPAMs a day for this product. I don't know if the spammers are actually related to the company. |
My father has threatened to get me one for my rescue dog. I've never met a dog who was so fond of her own voice So glad it's working for Gar! Kristine |
We use a similar product for Ru, it's called 'Bark Alarm' and you plug it in. It works a treat, Ru just barks once then he stays quiet. The only thing is, remember other sounds can trigger it off, so be careful what kind of environment you use it in. Ours has an 'audible' switch so humans can hear what triggers it, then you switch it back to dog frequency. We only use ours when we need to have Ru in a seperate room if we have guests for example. |
