This is pretty normal - for all breeds of dogs. The more they exercise and get the blood flowing, the more the peristalsis of the gut gets moving and evacuates wastes more quickly. The faster it goes through, the wetter it is. Each dog varies as individuals, so you will see more or less depending on that particular dog. My Simon (basset) is the worst of all mine - he gets really loose easily with exercise, and eventually is "pooping" with nothing coming out. |
We have the same problem. Our female is the "perfect pooper". But if we run her alot or she is out playing hard with our other sheepdog, her stool bets a little soft. ALso if we walk her too soon after eating, she will poop and its soft. I wouldn't worry about it if the stools ar normal otherwise.... Our Vet said the more exercise, the soft poop may happen. However, caution, don't exercise too much after a meal. We wait about 2 hours at least after a meal before running. |
Tiggy is the same. She's two now and seems to be getting a bit better. I'm not sure if its due to her gut maturing or her brain. I think she doesnt run around quite so crazily now than she used to. |
TIlly goes absolutely berserk running around with the other dogs - and this is normally followed by a soft and even a runny stool (which of course is embarrassing to try and clean up around the other dogs parents - not to mention how funny a fluff ball can look stopping dead still midplay for a knee trembling runny poo) |
My dogs get this too, especially at the dog park. The first stools are pretty normal... the second... blech! My Wendel also has a sensitive stomach, so even without exercise he can have softer stools. |
