| When I cut a nail too short I use cornstarch to stop the bleeding. Once it's done bleeding I just check it every day or so. There's never been a problem from that for any of our dogs. I think the quick heals pretty quickly along the end. We nicked Theepers' quick once and I swear that dog bled out a pint of blood. I dealt with him first of course, and then went back to clean up. He was on a plastic sheet (the kind that go under office chairs) at the time, so it was easy to clean up, but it was like a scene from Dexter. A bucket of bloody water and five or so blood stained rags later I was out putting the rags in the trash. I figured somebody would call that in to the police. LOL |
