Yeppers! Carl was at work in Gatineau and he didn't hear the bang but, of course, felt the shake. I'm here in Aylmer and heard the bang and felt the "roll", I happened to be upstairs. They've just revised the force to a Magnitude 5.0 . No damage here but all the dogs went nutso for a few minutes..they are currently spread out in the living room snoozing after protecting mommy and sissy from the giant that made a big noise and shook their house! |
Sorry folks, had beans and asparagus last night. My apologies. |

We felt it here too... well, I didn't, but everyone else in the house did.... LOL We had one about 8 years ago in the winter in the middle of a storm, snow, thunder and lightning and an earthquake, all in the middle of the night (very weird)... my son came out of his room to tell me and I told him he was silly and to go back to bed but he was right LOL |
It was interesting because, about five seconds before the bang, Mady leapt (why on earth does leapt show up as a spelling error??) up from where she had been lying on the floor chewing her toy. I wonder if she sensed something. I am happy I had a migraine today and was home for her, although once the shaking stopped she was fine. Lots of construction around here due to the never ending production of condos so small that they should only be used as kennels, she must be getting used to the rumbling. |
I totally missed it. I think I was in the car or something because everyone else here is talking about it. |
Mady did sense it before...often they hear it before the actual rolling and noise (to our ears) begins. |
Felt it here in Syracuse. I was sitting at my desk at work and the floor began to bounce. Other people started asking "what was that"? I told them it was an earthquake. I've been thru a couple in the last 9 years so I know what they feel like. (April 2001, epicenter north of Albany, NY and April 2008, epicenter on the IL/IN border (shook St. Louis)). This is the third one I can remember. |
I happen to be stopped on a bridge in my car in Gatineau Quebec when I felt the shake. I thought it was a big transport truck causing the shaking, and then the bang. Few minutes later I was downtown Ottawa and my car was swarmed with people, they were all out on the streets from their office buildings. At this point I had no clue what was happening, I just knew that I could not drive because of all the people! About 5 minutes later the CBC radio news announced the earthquake, then it all made sense to me. My cell phone service was out for an hour. I actually was heading home to Guelph (6 hour drive) when all this started. Quite the adventure. I am now home safe and sound. peg and 12 week old puppy Howie |
troys in London Ontario today, he didn't feel it. I didn't feel it here in Michigan either. Lisa and Frankie |
I was driving so I didn't notice it at all. Lots of people around here talked about it though. The hubbs says it was all the American soccer fans jumping for joy today because we won! |
No radio or news on today - this is the 1st I heard of it. What time was it? |
