Another exploded cyst

:cow: Here we go again. After the tail cyst explosion last year which almost cost her beautiful Pyr tail, today back cyst exploded. Got her to the vet who at first was very worried. After a microscopic exam only finding "cottage cheese and inflamed cells" looks like we are back to the same routine as last year. Irrigate inside the cyst with cleaner, add antibiotic, cover and then a curious figure eight with Ace bandage over the lower back and inside the thighs keeping clear of the poop hole. And of course Cephalaxion 3x a day. At least this one is very reachable :clappurple: :clappurple:

...and keeping with her job as Merry Maid, she came home from the vet, pranced down the hall and licked off the blood and yuck spot from the wall I was planning on cleaning myself. Such a good girl.

Oh, no.....but glad this one is in a more handy spot. :?

and my resident Merry Maid is foster Harley. Gotta love 'em!

correction - if it's something on the house or furnishings, it's Harley. If it's on another dog or human, it's Chewie. Specialists with division of labor around here....
Ouch! Oscar has one of these on his right flank, so we're waiting to see if it ever opens up. The doc aspirated it when Oscar was under for growth removals, so we confirmed that it is a fatty cyst.

Hope it heals quickly.

I'm not sure this is a fatty cyst. Those are usually soft and squishy. This was hard from day one and grew outward. (with long hair you didn't even see it until we shave her ) After vet shaved around it, we only have 15 blade, vet used a 40 blade, it looked like the world's largest pimple or a volcano. Already it is decreasing in size. Fortunately not like Mt. St. Helens with a sideways explosion.......that was the tail cyst. This is on top, a lot like Mona Kea  complete with crater.

What is cute is the color of her skin. You'd expect a pink skin, nope, it's like a leopard.....rather like white (or pink) and grey granite
Sebacious (sp) cyst is those ones filled with a cottage cheese icky stuff. :twitch:

When they burst they are a doozie :cow:

I think you described them well, like a giant pimple or wait for it and hope it does not happen an erupting volcano oozing cream cheese if they do erupt. 8O

Kelsey had one the buggar erupted then subsided then the cheesy muck built up again for another eruption then crikeys we in the end had the darn mini volcano removed surgically. :?

(Hope no one is eating when reading this post :P  )
This one is shrinking nicely, from volcano to large mound...with a hole. She's so patient as I squirt the cleaner inside, then Panalog chamber, wrap with Ace. Of course the follow up is Peanutbutter with her antibiotic. This old lady knows what's important.
Oh, dear Lord, I think I'm gonna lose my lunch! Wow, y'all are great with this stuff. BLECH!
This vet, one of three ladies in the practice :yay: admitted, "Boy, it sure is hard refraining from squeezing the thing. It might rupture inwards. Well........  I admit I already had some fun.

Hubby had one on his neck, same thing, don't squeeze, but when it started weeping.......

There, that ought to finish some dinners!
