Side by Side Crate

We travel with our dogs and we ahve crates for both for in the car. But, both crates are too big. I believe the idea behind using a crate in the car is to keep the dog safe in case of short stops and accidents. My crates are too large and the dogs are standing up and sliding around. SOOOOO

Does anyone use those "side by side" crate they make specail for SUV? They are quite a big narrower than the regular crates. But perhaps a bit small is better????

I have them. I find that I only really need one since Maggie is the one who will jump and lurch and bark at trucks where Henry just sleeps. If I put Maggie in there, she tends to be more calm, which I think is safer for me. I don't think it would actually keep her safe in an accident because she would slide forward into the metal. I think it is perhaps safer to have them wear a harness that attaches to the seat belt.
