HEY! What's new with you?

So what is new and exciting in your life? Or just new? Or just same old same old?

I am taking a knitting class this August (Woohoo, old people skills here I come!) and I am currently working on an Art Nouveau cross stitch. I'm turning 30 in a day and am having a complete life crises going on. No longer being in my hip and cool (not that I ever was) 20's is just killing me. I can't figure out whether to get myself knocked up or forget that and travel the world and spoil my nieces. I still like my husband, we just celebrated our 7th, hate my dumpy house (oh dear god when will I ever get walls), love being in Oregon and near my parents, SO very ready to go to Hawaii and see my sister this year, wish I was a little lighter because my bosom keeps getting in the way, and just generally okay with life at the moment (except for when I think about world problems).

So, what's new with you?

Congratulations on hitting 30's. It's just a number now, you still feel young and your body is still young enough to pretend to go along.

Seven year itch in marriage? Love changes, it morphs into different forms, but it takes work to still retain that first intense love. It's still there, but you have to rediscover it. Get creative, go back and do silly things you did 6 or 7 years ago....not exactly the same but with the same wild abandon. "Like" isn't strong enough to be thinking of the stork. Love and Like must be strong to get you thru the turmoils.....and joys of parenthood.

Instead work together on saving money to fix up the dumpy old house. Budget it, save and work towards it. Together you can do it. One of you just won't make it. Also save for vacations together. They don't have to be exensive, just time alone away from all will be good for you two.

Oregon is beautiful and being near family is great. My niece is transferring to Lewis and Clark this fall......she's excited. Hawaii sounds delightful! As for the melons up top, think of all the women who get enlargements......yours came naturally so play them up! Start accenting what's up top, maybe DH will take new interest

Around here we have plenty of new puppies and owners to welcome. New faces too. Some of our dear sheepdogs are gone  At the moment I can't think of anyone pregnant.

I still have my 4 beasts. All about the same......2-- 12 year olds and 2-- 8 year olds.......I'm guessing as all are rescues. Pills are handed out daily: Rimadyl, Proin (bladder control), thyroid, vitamins......yea gags. As for uprights, DH gets a new hip next month which means summer plans have suddenly changed. Rats.
SheepieBoss HAHA Oh dear, I guess I should have said LOVE because I am still slightly obsessed with Lee and follow him around everywhere bothering him. He got me a necklace for one of my anniversary presents that goes all the way down my shirts... It leaves him very distracted and I have a whole lot of fun wearing it getting him all bothered  . Rahaha. As for our dumpy old house...Lee is a do-it-yourselfer so we are going to be working on it for awhile. So if I want a vacation I will have to take it or be stuck here for the next 20 years. I want to go on a cruise next year with Lee and I am going to see if I can convince him into it. The savings are back up after last years 20 grand hit for structural repairs we had done, so all is good. I sure do miss my nice little house in AZ where everything was done and perfect.

Hopefully your DH's hip replacement goes well next month. It made a world of difference when my grandma had hers done.
Crustybird it sounds like things are going well for you. Hang in there regarding the home improvements. What I would give to be 30 again... :D

This economy has kept me on the move so to speak. My hubby took a job in the most southern end of our county so we moved into a nice rental house on a lake in a gated community. We where there 14mts and were just starting to look around at houses to buy when the attorney that owned the house stopped making payments and let it go into forclosure...so once the shock wore off we moved to another rental kinda countryish 2 miles from the lake house. This house was so nice with columns and whirlpool bath, really nice place owned by a builder. He was upside down on the morgtage so he decided to let it go into forclosure in January...so we moved to this house May 21st. The house we are in now is 2141sqft with 10 ft ceilings so a good size for hubby, daughter, dogs, cat n me. Once again, we are in a countryish setting. The few homes around us are all built since 2005. I've learned a lot about forclosures. Anyway, each home we rented was fairly new all built since 2005 which are the ones haveing the most problems.
So I'm spending my time making this house a home. The dogs and the cat seem to really like this house. I can take the Aussies off lead and walk the fields with them and they just love it. Violet needs more supervision and once my back and shoulder are feeling better I'll work with her out there. Pearl spends the days outside. We did put up a fence, and I will see her laying out in the middle of the lawn all stretched out cat napping away..mind you we are in the 90's here. Oh, also dealing with China's UTI.
We have a new grandbaby expected at Halloween..so looking forward to that and a trip to see him/her in October/Novemberish. Speaking of age, my youngest son turned 25 May 30th. I don't understand how he could get so old and I didn't??
I hope you enjoy your knitting class...and you get to Hawaii!
Oh Helen!! How frustrating-- soo many foreclosures-- and you had to move soo many times!! That would make me soo mad!

Crusty (cracks me up typing that!) I think it sounds like things are lovely for you!! I'd love to go on a cruise one day too! I've never been on one.

Around here-- well, I"ll be 40 8O this fall and I can't figure out how I got that old! The only time I feel old is when my kids have a birthday! :) and when my knee gives me problems. I can honestly say I'm much calmer and statisfied at 39 than I was at 30.

the HUBS comes home from Iraq TOMORROW :yay: I can't wait to see him. This has been a very very long 8 months, and I'm growing tired of it! We had our 19th Anniversary this month (but have been together nearly 21) and our middle child graduates HS in 2 weeks. Granted he has to go back to Iraq-- but I' soo excited that he will be here for the graduation!! He was forced to miss our daughter's graduation because of being in Iraq the last time & couldn't get to come home. SOOOO I'm tickled pink! I will have my husband and ALL my kids home at the same time for the first time in 2 years!! Sometimes the smallest things make me happy.
^^

SO EXCITED FOR YOU!!! :clappurple: :clappurple: Glad he'll be home .................for a little while. I BET you're growing tired of it!!! Hope you guys enjoy your time together. Sounds like you guys have a good things going on. :)

Nothing new with us. I'm not losing weight. We're super busy. Lil J and Joshee will be starting swim lessons next week. I'll be using my coupon for a 25 dollar full service groom next weekend. I'm both scared and excited to get the dog clipped down. I'm doing both dogs down to 1/2" Yep. I've been keeping up on baths every 10 days and combing them out before and after ...and when you've got 3 kids ...the process is beating me down. Too much in my schedule. My birthday is this month ...hate growing old, love it being "my weekend." :D
I have 2 more radiation treatments (today and Monday) and then I AM DONE. You have no idea how happy that makes me. Mrs. J., don't feel bad about the weight thing. I haven't lost any either so my goal is 5 pounds by July 23. I registered for semi-private Pilates mat/equipment lessons but those don't start until the end of July.

In other exciting news, I am wearing my new Izod hot pink polo shirt.

Where's the ::yawn:: icon???? :lol:
I'm REALLY hoping that good things are on the horizon for us! Josh is currently pursuing a career advancement within Deere. It would be a nice pay/bonus increase and will give him management experience on his resume. Also, it's a good direction to go with in his career.

Currently, he works out of Davenport, this new job would mean we would move an hour and a half north into Dubuque, Iowa. This means we can get out of the ghetto!!! Okay, our neighborhood isn't THAT bad, but I can't walk my dogs down the street. I'd also welcome a larger home with a bigger back yard :hearts: :hearts:

Asterisk is ready to advance to her next phase of agility; she's progressing really well. :yay: And Wendel is going to have his CGC test next week and if we pass that, we can work towards our Therapy Dog certification!
It's my birthday on Saturday :D .Wedding aniversary on the 19th .23 year together 8O .Where has all the years gone ?
Kenley is starting puppy foundation next week i have also been talked into going to ringcraft with him .Week after Marley is going to get his summer puppy cut.

I have been given 2 large boxes of chocolates for my birthday so i won't mention diets

I'm in the process of making some stained glass windows for all the downstairs doors in my house that we bought 3 years ago . :)
Happy Anniversary!!

Dave celebrated our first last weekend. We drove up to Wisconsin to his grandparents lakehouse. They were supposed to be going to Chicago for the weekend, but ended up staying with us. Not exactly what I planned, but fun nonetheless.

Otherwise things have been great here. Summer in Chicago is always fun and we've been enjoying it already. Blackhawks won the world cup so there has been a lot of celebrating here and there are a hundred thousand people a few blocks away waiting for the parade/rally at noon.

The dogs are getting shaved tomorrow which I'm more excited about that anything else!

... do you mean Stanley cup? Sorry, I'm from Detroit (sucks that we lost in the finals  )
i totally understand your frustration with house remodeling...hence why we bought a condo!!

we went to hawaii already, tan has faded...we now have to pack and move..ick!

ive started volunteering for the american cancer society at an oncology office...i love it, even though brian grumbles that i now only have one day off a week....

6 close people in my life have been diagonsed with some form of cancer or another in the last 4 month, so im trying to do my best with helping them....

i got my hair cut into a bob and it feels and looks thicker...

panda nipped my on my inner upper arm...it still hurts...

i bought a red pair of hi heeled sandals in a consignment store that were never worn and i originally had them in black and was mad that i didnt buy all of the colors because they were so comfortable....and now the black is gone, but i got the red ones!!

and every time i need a good laugh, i watch snl lawrence welk videos!
Oh I do remember turning 30 and being so - shocked - by it! Now I'm 40. It does seem unreal but that's life, right? It's amazing how fast things change. I look at j's pics of her babies and just smile...that was me not so long ago and holy wow - they're 14, 12 and 6 now. I miss those babies sooo much.

We're always remodeling something too. Finished the main bath upstairs in February, focused on the back yard over the last several weeks and hope to start a full gut of our kitchen in January (fingers crossed!). We need a new driveway too but I can't do both right now, that's for sure. The driveway will cost as much as the kitchen. Bless.

On the not-great front, Chap would be such a happier dog if he was an only dog. He's not mean or aggressive, but he's so jealous, and it's just getting worse and worse. He whines and cries and barks when the other dogs get ANY attention. It does not matter if HE gets attention - he doesn't even want attention - he just doesn't want THEM to have attention. He tries to herd them away from us and circles like a shark when they are near us and he didn't interfere in time. He plays with other dogs, is friendly to them at the dog park and that kind of thing. He just doesn't want to live with them. I think he'd just flourish if he was an only dog. So that kind of sucks rocks at the moment.

I do mean the Stanley Cup! I was really excited about the world cup today and streaming the South Africa v. Mexico opening game. Too much sports for my brain!

I just got back from the parade and we had a pretty good "Detroit Sucks" chant going
Summer hysteria here...which is normal.

I have an art fair every single weekend (some 3 dayers as well), and am scrambling to keep my stock up and appease the galleries that carry me. Our big shows are coming up fast, so were also working on fixing our old and messed-up RV, and getting ready to hit the road 8).

I have an appointment with a new DR. this Thursday, and lots of new tests to try and figure out why Ive had daily migraines for 2 years now, and massive hive outbreaks for the past 2 months :( Right now I am off of all meds in preparation for the tests, so I'm not really a happy camper.

On the bright side, its a glorious, beautiful summer here, with just enough rain to stop any wildfire fears (in my area, at least...53 wildfires and counting, statewide), and nice mild temps in the 60s.

Yup...I'm old too  At 46 I sometimes feel quite ridiculously ancient, and sometimes forget I'm not still in my 20s. My 2 nieces that I helped raise are both pushing 30 8O , and boy did that realization shock me!!
Going to the NEOESR picnic tomorrow!

Oh I forgot to mention my hubby and I celebrated our 26th Wedding Anniversary on June 1st.

Good for you. That is pretty exciting! My parents will be celebrating their 38th this year I think. I don't know how time flies by so fast. I actually feel guilty sometimes because some of my friends marriages, who have been married less then Lee and I, have been breaking up. It makes me feel bad that Lee and I hit the lucky stick and are so happy together when they can't be. Count my lucky stars eh? lol
Busy Busy getting ready for our trip to Florida. Leaving Thursday. Frankie is staying at the Pet Smart where he has daycamp. I have had a personal trainer working with him there on how to leave it with other dogs. He's been able to play for awhile without any confrontation. Feeling bad about leaving him though, We have never left a dog at a kennel for more than a night. Troys out of town this weekend, so tomorrow is all about Lisa. I'm going for a pedicure then headed to a tanning booth. I have been working on my tan for a few weeks now. I'm very light complected, and am sure I will still burn. Lots and lots of 70 sun block.

Turned 42 this year and I swear some days I feel a hundred. Been diligently working on my diet. I would love to loose 2 more lbs by next Thursday. Bikini here I come.

I'm not a sports fan, but everyone I work with are Red Wing fans. Boy were they bummed when they were eliminated this year. We also live fairly close to MIS and there is a big race in town this weekend. Thank means stay off any major roads headed to the Irish Hills on Sunday.

And lastly we have been very blessed by everything we have, my husband has worked very hard and has a wonderful automotive business. Things are tough here in Michigan, but we are trying to get back on our feet and recover from the Automotive failures this year. Troy is working so so hard to get the company back to where it was 2 years ago. He doesn't know what the word failure means. So I'm sure he will succeed. We always have each other. We have been together for 21 years and married for 15. Things get hard, but we make it through.

Lisa and Frankie
Aw, heck! I typed and though I posted a lengthy update here today :( It's not here!

Well, anyway, we're doing well. Evan's getting so big and is pulling himself up. I can't believe he'll be ONE next month. Steve and I are both employed :D; Fozzie is still our same loveable clown. Annie is declining despite her active brain. We think she's had some hearing and sight loss. She whines and barks so much more now and she's having more trouble getting up. Sad :(
Hey Ron
Tell Grannie Annie I said hello if you see her.
We have been having alot of correspondence about Frankie.
Have fun at the Picnic

Lisa and Frankie
Baby Sheepie
I would do it but it might ruin your relationship with her. ;)
Not really too much new here.

I'm still working as a nurse, but just homecare, not hospital as I did for 20 yrs, not hospital+homecare as in the past 10 yrs. Guess I made a graded transition!

Todd still is officially unemployed, it was a year in February. But he is enjoying doing Todd's Daycare - he is doing daycare for the grandkids.

Still have the 6 dogs, the 12 yr old foster basset Harley (who Chewie has adopted), all the sheep, chickens, Tipup the cat who rules like a dog, and all the yard, garden, ponds and great country life.

All the kids are doing well, have good jobs that they enjoy. And 3 great human grandkids and 6 granddogs too.

And I find it hard to believe I will be 50 in a couple years....
especially when LeAnne and I were introduced as mother/daughter at our TCOESC's after show dinner last evening and someone asked "who's the mom?" :clappurple: :clappurple: :clappurple:
That's a keeper moment! 8)

I don't believe it...without pictures!!!!!!
Turning 30 was a relief for me. I'm 32 now and really loving settling down. I am working full time for the first time in 3 years, repairing my bank balance and paying off debts. I should be debt free by next spring

We avoid my parents as much as possible, which isn't easy considering my dad half lives with us & half with mum, but he's mostly with her now so all is good. Not had any hassle from mum for ages (things had gotten so bad I seriously thought about cutting all contact because I couldn't cope).

Ru is getting older, he will be 3 in August. I'm working on my confidence to show him again.

Greg is always a superstar.. I'm so lucky to have such a wonderful, supportive man by my side.

My health is up & down, I've been dealing with allergic reactions and asthma which the doc will not give me an inhaler for as it's caused by food allergies and I'm supposed to work out what causes it and avoid those foods. That alone has taken me months while I'm up all night having problems breathing.

All in all I can safely say I'm very happy, and things are getting better and better.
I think that covers everything!!

LOL - she just rolled her eyes and smoothly came back with "thanks to her daughters for taking her shopping and stuffing her in changing rooms and making her buy more fashionable clothes". She also says I never can leave Kim, my hair stylist! (I'm not stupid!)
Approaching midway through my kitchen reno, the first such renovation I've ever undertaken. My old kitchen is heaped in a dumpster in my drive way, and I am almost finished with having electric and plumbing roughed in. The house is an old one (built in 1896) and we've been fortunate to uncover relatively few problems. Some work we hadn't anticipated has been done in the basement --but needed. We'll end up with a better laundry room in addition to a more functional kitchen. A bonus is that the contractor uncovered the original maple floors in the kitchen which we are planning to have patched and refinished. Hubby patiently pulled staples for 3 days, which was extremely genrous since he doesn't care at all about any of the renovation.

My oldest son will be moving and starting back to college after more than a decade of postponing finishing his degree. I am really glad he finally has decided to take that plunge. It's scary for him, but the very best move possible. In the fall, all 3 of my sons will be college students. With any luck, one will graduate in Dec. and another in spring 2011. Now: to get my daughter back in college! One kid at a time, I guess.

I feel like life is moving in a better direction at long last. The past 5 years have been tough for my family: I lost both my parents, my very first, much beloved OES, Merlin; my son joined the army and returned safely after 15 mo. in Afghanistan; my husband had one cancer scare and then, a year ago, had surgery for prostate cancer. I am ready for a time of healing and restoration, to tell the truth.
Hey SheepieBoss, I'm pregnant . I may be the only one right now, that in itself is scary! Enjoy 30.....I will be 35 this year and it seems like a blur since 30, and really not much changed.
Good luck with the house renovations, I have a honey-do list a mile long. I just need a husband swap to find someone who wants any part of that list, I definitely did not marry Bob Villa. But we are technically still newlyweds, so I think he is perfect as is!
I thought someone was...but you are keeping quiet about it!
