She is gentle with him for the most part, and he isn't freaked out by it - and I know the tables will turn very quickly when he's big enough to get his own back - but it's just exhausting to watch her at times!! To add to the 'fun' Inca seems to have gone deaf to all commands - even to get her to sit is a struggle when he is around.. she's always been very play focussed, so it's not a great surprise, but I hadn't been expecting her to be quite so non-responsive.. Any ideas what's going on here? do you think it's just going to take some time for her to remember we exist while the puppy is around? Anything we can do to speed up the process? |

Pictures please! |
Same here with Marley and Kenley Marley got fed up within 3 weeks and migrated upstairs .He only comes down for walks and food. Same thing happened when i got Marley as a pup .My other dog lived upstairs for a few months then reappeared when all the teething and chewing had disappeared. I'm hoping Marley will start to live with the pack again in a couple of months |
Sounds to me like Inca is VERY happy you figured out what was missing in her life! I remember Melody acting the same when when we finally brought Isaac home after Phoebe died. It was like she looked at us & was saying "Finally! You figured out what I was telling you I needed!" Don't count on Saxon ever putting Inca in her place. I am sure things will mellow out after a bit but the girls generally always run the show. The boys just are tickled to death to be allowed to be part of the pack! And yes............we need pictures! |
