Mady training her people

Mady loves to romp around in the backyard of course, and she makes it known when she wants to go out just by sitting by the door:

But, this doesn't work all the time. Sometimes I'd like to be able to enjoy a movie or eat my dinner for more than 3 minutes at a stretch. So she has learned to escalate The Cuteness. I don't remember when she first did this, but we must have made a huge fuss the first time, so now she normally requests to be let out by draping the curtain around her.

She KNOWS I am not able to resist this. Works every time. I now enjoy my dinner or movie in 30 second bits...

:clappurple: Don't you just love the things these sheepies do to get a smile! HAHAHAA

Super cute pics!
ahhhhhhhhh way to cuteness
Waaaay tooo cute! Made me laugh!

Are you doing any obedience with Mady? If she's to become more talented than Babe the Pig at herding, she needs to learn how to respond to commands. Start simple, but do wake up the learning part of the brain.
Yes we are taking a training course. Our first class was this past Wednesday, and of course, she behaved worse than she ever has before. Wouldn't even sit for us!
she is just so cute!
What a cutie!!!!!!!!!!
Tiggy likes to drape herself in the curtains too. But she sleeps draped in them.
When you are that cute...you don't have to obey!
What a precious little girl!
Mady is such a doll! What a cutie pie! :hearts: :hearts: :hearts:
I think she has been teaching Ru the same tricks

Did you forget the link?

Cassie: glad to see they don't grow out of it :D Does yours do it for a specific reason (Mady does it for me to take her out back and play with her)? Or just plain sheepdog silliness?
hahaha! This is so funny, what a clever girl!
Duh it was there cause I checked it.
No idea what happened.

Tonight I watched Mady train David to fetch (Mady being the sheepdog, David being the man).

She hopped on the sofa (I do so hope our trainer doesn't come on these forums and find out how many rules we break) with her football. She chewed it for awhile, watching David out of the corner of her eye. When he looked away from her, she tossed the ball off the sofa and gave a woof. In the blink of an eye, David was off the sofa, crawling underneath it to fetch her ball. She did this, and I counted, 12 times in a row before David clued in that she was nudging the ball off the sofa on purpose. The sight of a grown man crawling on the floor to fetch a ball for a dog is an image I will forever treasure! :)

The hide behind the curtain training of David is also going well. He is losing weight, as she doesn't let him eat much before doing the curtain trick. I wonder what her next trick will be? Have you folks all been trained by your sheepies too? What tricks did your pups teach you?

Some days I realise that I made a big mistake when I got a sheepdog, I think she is smarter than me.
