Steep for 3 minutes: 2 tea bags in 1 cup boiling water In a large bowl or pot, Stir: 1 cup sugar, 6 oz. FROZEN (concentrated) lemonade, 3 oz. FROZEN (concentrated) orange juice, 3-1/2 cups water & 1 cup rum. Add the cup of steeped tea (after removing the tea bags of course). Freeze. Makes 1 quart. Scoop out & enjoy. It should be the consistancy of frozen shaved ice or a slush. I generally make this at least 24 hours before I want to serve it. You might have to dig at the center at first. I usually double the batch & mix it in a large plastic mixing bowl with a lid so I can set in in my deep freezer. |

My sister-in-law makes a similar recipe - minus the steeped tea. We call it Rum Slushies. I made it for the Sheepiepalooza Friday night party two years in a row. Those that tried it liked it very much. |
Thanks! This sounds wonderful--I am going to try it! |
