Frosty Paws

Has anyone ever heard of this treat? Do you know where you can purchase them? I have found a recipe for them and thought I might try them out. Does anyone else's sheepie like them?

I made them and Nab loved them. I put extra banana in mine because she loves banana and I left out the honey. She loves anything that looks like ice cream, tastes like ice cream, smells like ice cream...you get the idea. I think it's a good idea for summer when they get so hot.
We buy Frosty Paws in the summertime at our Walmart in the freezer section next to the Bil-Jac. Our dogs love them!! When my mom brings her two Rotties over Jack and Annie will share their Frosty Paws and Zach and Jessie just love them too!!

Stormi and co.
I've never heard of them, I'll have to look for them....
I buy Frosty Paws at Meijer and Kayli loves them. She knows them by name, like any other yummy t-r-e-a-t.

Belle hasn't tried any yet, they're usually a summer treat.

I usually find them tucked in a corner of one of the freezers at Meijer.

I buy them at Kroger but could you share the recipe? Thanks. Something my guys like in hot weather is koolaid ice cubes, for sure an outdoor treat :D
My parents dog loves popsicles, but he hates banana flavored ones...lol
Clyde thinks ice cubes are the best treat ever. I'm looking forward to sharing popsicles this summer!
Yes... popsicles in summer beats poopsicles in winter everytime.
I found several recipes and they are all pretty much the same. Here are two of them:

Banana & Peanut Butter

32 oz vanilla yogurt
1 mashed banana or 1 large jar of banana baby food
2 tblsp peanut butter
2 tblsp honey

Blend together and freeze in 3 oz paper cups or ice trays.

Meat

32 oz vanilla yogurt
1 mashed banana or 1 large jar of banana baby food
4 4oz jar of baby food

Blend together and freeze in paper cups or ice trays

This recipe suggests putting in the microwave for a few seconds before serving.
If we ever get warm weather I'm going to try these. Thanks Betsy.
I just found Frosty Paws in the freezer section with the other frozen novelties. I was shocked as this is a very ethnic area.

Note the recipe, peanutbutter and banana are not loved by several of my guys.......so I make my own using babyfood meat along with the yogurt.....sure discourages people from taking "tests."

Now some enterprising person needs to develop an edible cup recipe.......as I worry they are going to chew the container.
Could you put a flat bottomed ice cream cone in a muffin pan, fill and freeze?
That's a thought. I don't know why you wouldn't be able to do that. If you do it that way you could trick them into thinking they were actually getting ice cream  .
to keep the cone from getting soggy before the "cream" would freeze, freeze the cone first, fill, and pup back in freezer! You folks are incredible. Here I was thinking flatter cup, not taller. Wonder how much easier to hold if more vertical? May just have to try.....next grocery trip.
What about just freezing them right in the muffin tin? When they're done just dip the pan in cool to lukewarm water, to just below the rim, and pop them out. You could put them in baggies or another container to store.

Geez! I hope you meant "put" and not "pup" :D

They are a very popular treat in St. Louis. I work at a supermarket and we sell quite a few of them during the summer. I've never tried them on Barney - I would think it's an outside treat only. I'd think they might get awful messy.
I'm thinking you could put the mixture in an ice cream machine to start the freezing process and then fill the cones.
I tried these out last night. It was fairly warm yesterday (70's), so I figured why not. Pud absolutely loved it! George you were absolutely right about it being an outside treat. Wish I had of thought of that last night. We did make a mess, but had fun just the same.
