Is she lunging to bite or just to jump up on someone? |
I not sure if she was going to bite but isn't was a happy greeting. There was a growl. |
if you are walking both dogs, and the lady had a treat for Laika, Laika could have been growling at Langley while trying to get the cookie before he could. Sort of a "that's going to be MY treat, BACK OFF" gesture. Luna will growl at her food bowl even though I feed Tonks in another room. And if I walk away, sure enough Tonks is standing in the doorway, antagonizing Luna. Its a very "i'm not touching you!" type of behavior, and Luna is protective. Possibly Laika feels protective over treats when Langley is around? |
I agree with Alison maybe she was getting in fast and growling at Langley at the same time. Its hard to know though isnt it? Tiggy has started doing this to Rastus and the cat when I'm eating. She is warning them to stay away from me and any potential treats. I do a lot of treat training. Now both dogs are made to go to their beds away from me, they had progressed to lying on the rug near me but those priviledges are gone. Unfortunately I have been walking Rastus and Tiggy separately for months now. Tiggy just cant control her bossy self and chases, barks and generally harasses Rastus till he's so grumpy he starts picking on other dogs. On his own he is really friendly to all other dogs. Pack dynamics! So hard to manage sometimes. |
I hadn't even given the cookie to the lady. My trainer thinks it might have to do with Langley but it isn't a cookie thing. |
Why does the trainer think it might have something to do with Langley? |
Oh sorry she thinks that she might be resource guarding him or something to that effect. So I am going to try walking them separately. Maybe she is just tired of being attached to a bouncy goofy boy she will also puts him in his place when he gets too crazy. Especially if children around she puts him in his place. |
It's simple. The lady is evil Sorry I can't be any more helpful than that |
actually she was really good about it considering. She was actually very understand; helps when she has two dogs herself. But not too many people would be as understanding. I don't know what is up with Laika she has been very touchy lately. THe other day I was walking then and Langley pooped I was about to get it and she started to back up towards it and I slightly SLIGHTLY moved her and she growled I do plan on taking her to the vet. |
Our Bailee loves everyone he meets and has been a "jumper" since day one. Our Trainer has me make Bailee sit before anyone can come and greet him. It really does work, he rarely jumps anymore and sits and wiggles a lot when getting petted. |
