How old is Khloe and is she spayed? Spayed females sometimes have leakage issues that are unrelated to excitement urination and can require meds to alleviate the problem. Are you addressing her when she pees on the furniture or while she's eating? Has anyone done anything that may get her excited or fearful in those situations? Is she on any meds that may cause frequent urination such as prednisone? If it's really excitement/anxiety urination, try to always approach her without making any kind of fuss. Don't even speak to her until she settles down. Best way to prevent furniture from getting peed on is to not allow her on it. (sorry, this is tough love my style.) Approach her by getting down on her level rather than from above. Greet her eye-to-eye so she does not feel intimidated by you looming over her. Fawning over her usually just makes the problem worse so don't use the "happy voice" while trying to resolve this problem. Some dogs do just grow out of this, others always have a tendency to get excited and sprinkle on your feet. If there's any doubt in your mind, you may want to visit your vet and have her checked for a urinary tract infection or leakage due to hormonal problems from spaying. ETA: Just saw where Khloe is only about 12 weeks old. That's the equivalent of a human infant so any kind of unexpected urination is probably normal. |
If it's new though I'd have the vet rule out an infection.... |
