I might add...I do not miss oaying almost ten bucks a pack for butts, do not miss having to stand out in the rain to smoke and do not miss the smell...But, that is my rational mind. My stupid minds says, hey let's have a cigarette!!!! |
|
Congrats you've done really well! |
Cant say if the cravings will stop I'm not a smoker but I wanted to say: CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
CONGRATS! That's great news. |
YAY!!! Good for you!! My mom quit smoking about 7 years ago and said it took her about a year for the cravings to fully go away. I remember once we were going in a resteraunt and she did say that if she were to walk past someone who was smoking it would still rear it's ugly head now and then. So just be diligent and keep it up!!! |
Congratulations!!!! It's said the worst parts of a quit are at 3 days, 3 weeks, and 3 months. So you are past the worst part. I officially quit a year ago (I had quit on and off up until then) and I can honestly say not a day goes by that I don't think about smoking. Once in a while I WANT to smoke, but I don't want to smoke more than I want to smoke. But I think about it! Everyone is different. |
Well done! Add up the dollars you haven't spent on cigarettes in 3 months! I bet it's a lot! I gave up daily lattes a few years ago and put that amount toward a weekly housekeeper. It almost pays for the full amount - I spend $10 more on the housekeeper than I spent on lattes and the trade off is SO WORTH IT! So take that money and use it to do something special for yourself. Maybe a massage a couple times a month! |
Yes!!!!! Absolutely, the cravings continue to diminish. My tough point was at 6 weeks. Past that it was 9 months unitl I realized that I hadn't thought of having a cigarette the previous day. I knew I was home free!!!! Now I almost never think of smoking at all. Every once in a while, maybe once every 3 or 6 months an urge for a cigarette will come out of nowhere. It usually goes lime this: Huh. I want a cigarette! Isn't that weird! How long has it been? I wonder how many cigarettes that would have been? (I calculate it out) Hmmmm how many cartons would that be? (calculation) how much space would that take in this room? oh.... The urge has passed. Let's see: 13 years, 4 months. That's 4868 days * 20 per day = 97,365! That's nearly 10 cases of 50 cartons each! You can do this!!! |
Oh Everyone! Thanks for the support! I NEED it! I heard that about the addiction rule and the "3" rule...Hoping this will pass...Its not so much the physical craving...Its the "Gee, didn't I do a great job on that cleaning of the kitchen? Let's relax with a cig"...So I need to find another way of relaxing... Ron..Holy Cow! Yopu saved almost 100 grand NOT smoking in all these years...So...did you save the money |
Well 4800 days, a pack per day(20 smokes). When I quit I think it was still below $5, but assuming $7.50 average I have saved about $37,000! |
WOW - congratulations!! Holy bankruptcy - $10 a pack, that is unbelievable! Keep up the good work and take a nice vacation with the money you've saved. |
Just saw this--- a big congratulations on the 3 months. I'm in the same timeframe. Slowly changing my old patterns and definitly getting more things down around the house. |
