Where in your bed does your dog sleep

I thought this would be a cute thing to start. I hope it hasn't been used before.

Frankie normally doesn't sleep in bed with us. When he does get in he's wild and crazy. It's play time to him. This morning Troy gave him a boost up in bed with us. He came over to me, put his head on my pillow and laid right up against me. Shortly after that he started snoring. :clappurple: :clappurple:

It was soooo cute.

Baloo is not a bed sleeper. If we let him on the bed he jumps down after about 10 mins all on his own. He's a cold floor dog.

Lily... she hogs the foot of the bed all the time since hubby's been gone to Iraq. Not sure how that's going to workout once he comes home. She only comes to the pillows when she wants to be petted or something.
On the floor pacing from one dog bed, to another, to a rug, to the bathroom floor.

Lately when we're asleep Yuki has been hopping up at the end of the bed, and I think it's b/c her joints hurt. When I see her, I tell her to get down though. ...b/c she causes more pain by the very clumsy methods she uses to get down (despite having custom made dog stairs).
Violet doesn't sleep on the bed with us...she prefers the bed to herself

China and Asia do, however, sleep on the bed with us...China lines her back up to my legs with her rear end up at my knees. Asia sleeps across the bottom of the bed. Violet sleeps on the floor on her Daddy's side, at the bedroom door,or in the bathroom.
Neither of my boys will sleep in the bed. José likes to lie on the bed when he's on the same floor as the bedroom. But when bedtime comes, both boys prefer to sleep in their kennels in the kennel or if traveling.....in a crate in the motel room. Now Mariah.....she's another story  . She sleeps in the kennel with the boys but if you let her she'd sleep in bed every chance she had!. She sorta of "melts" down into the mattress, hoping you won't see her (yeah, right!) & she'll get to stay there all night. She particularly looks forward to traveling because she knows it means she gets to sleep in bed in the motel. I will say she is VERY nice about it. She waits until you have settled in & then she finds her place in what is left.
No bed for Chewie. He is too hot. He sleeps on the coldest spot he can find - 99% it is the cement floor on the porch.
At shows he sleeps on the bathroom or entry tile in the motels.

But, he does come lick me, then jump up and wrestle and sit on me in the morning for a couple minutes!

Our cat Tipup is the only one sleeping with us at home.
The other dogs are crated or at least gated - we have a babygate at our bedroom door. It is the only off limits room in the whole house for the dogs.
Love the picture of Violet! She looks like she's smiling :D .

House rule - No dogs allowed on our bed. It was tough in the beginning, when they were pups, but we were grateful we never started it as both Quincy and Oscar grew to be over 110lbs. Both dogs also preferred the cold tile in the master bathroom, though in the middle of winter, if Oscar gets shaved, he will sleep on his king size dog bed until his fur grows out a bit.

I let Quincy on a bed once, in a hotel room. We were traveling from Chicago to south Florida, and had an overnight stay in Atlanta to break up the trip. The hotel room (a double suite, as my dad was with us) cost $139 for the night, and there was a non-refundable pet charge of $150, which they CLAIM was for the extra cleaning required. OK, we were literally there for 12 hours, with a non-shedding, shaved, extremely clean dog. What did they do, bring in a HAZ-MAT team????? Ridiculous. I told Quincy he was allowed on the bed, so we could earn our $150 "deposit". He hung out with Grandpa. :D

Laurie and Oscar, human bed deprived
Hmmm, Jack can no longer climb onto the bed. I fear bad hips are at play. If he gets a boost he prefers to come up to my face, give a few licks and then stretch out perpendicular to my face. That means toe nails on the boobs as he goes down.... 8O ....and then a giant black nose against my nose.

Harry has decided it's too warm to snuggle. This a.m. he did get onto the low bed and "assume the position"....me on my side and Harry's butt up against my abdomen. That way both of my arms are able to strech out and give him a full body massage.

MO is a leg snuggler for the most post. Back bone against the upright's lower legs. She tends to stay low in the bed, if not against the legs, then down there somewhere.

Looking at Violet, yep, both Harry and MO demand their own private time on a bed. They go off by themselves and snooze. Jack has his couch. Glacier is a confirmed floor dog.
Langley on the left and Laika on the right. She stays up with me throughout the night. Langley eventually gets down or I kick him out I only have a double bed. They hog I have a sliver to lie in! Plus he likes to lay his head on my and stare. cute but hard to read and sleep like that. He usually goes outside and sleeps there and a couple times he comes back inside and lays on the dog bed. I tried to put a stop to the late night outings because mosquitoes and black flies are starting to come out. But he moved the garbage can out of the way of the doggie door and went out. I have tried locking the door but now it is taped together with duct tape because they smashed through arg!
dreamer and duffy start out in bed once the t.v goes off duffy jumps down to lay by the a/c unit but dreamer and i fight all nite for the same spot .. in the morning he wins he is on top of me .. he weighs more then me and sometimes i can't breath so if you guys do not see me post for a while call the cops and tell them to look in the bed :clappurple:
Rudie only comes in bed if I'm eating cereal in the morning (yes I eat in bed) or we bribe him with a treat. He sometimes will fall asleep there and it's in the exact position that he jumped up in so it's usually awkwardly laying across the whole bed making it impossible for anyone else to enjoy.

Marley sleeps with us occasionally. She sleeps between her daddy's legs because I don't like to be touched while I sleep. She usually sleeps somewhere else though and does a running flying leap into bed with me in the morning after Dave takes her out. She is usually very dainty about how she steps over people, but in the morning she will jump on my stomach with ease. Then she curls up with me and sleeps for another 45 minutes.

Walter sleeps with my parents in the winter and he lays in my mom's spot and growls when anyone tries to move him. My dad and I find it quite amusing.
My three don't sleep on our bed -- they sleep either on the floor or on the dog beds in our room. Now that's generally fine as I've become used to stepping over them in the middle of the night. HOWEVER, last night I was jolted awake by our house alarm sirens going off. I jumped out of bed mostly still asleep, the dogs all jumped up too, and there was a disastrous Keystone Cops moment of 14 legs flailing wildly all over the place while the sirens blared. I finally made it halfway down the stairs before I was awake enough to realize my alarm was going off - I should not be going downstairs, I might get chopped up by the ax murderer down there! Finally we realized the side door had not been bolted and blew open. Took a good long while to settle back down after that. My knee and shoulder sure are torqued today!
Now that Gigi is not in a crate, she is in our bed. Well she starts on the bed between us then moves to the floor in front of the bedroom door. She prefers the tile. In the morning, she jumps back in bed and hits my head with her paw to wake me up. Bogey is still in a crate. i cannot imagine him in bed too!
I really don't encourage the dogs to get up on furniture, but Willy is sneaky and so cute about it that he occasionally gets away with it. He creeps up really slowly and quietly, as if I won't notice all 90 lbs of furball suddenly taking up the whole bed.
Max is a floor sleeper. He snoozes in the den, on his bed ,from about 8:00 p.m until 6:00 a.m. 8O

He hardly ever moves, unless he is dreaming. We tell him nighty night around 11:00, and don't hear a thing from him until he comes into the bedroom at 6:00. John gets up at 5:30, and like clockwork, here comes Max, just as John is brushing his teeth.

In the summer, if it is really warm, we will take him to the mud room at night, so he can sleep on the cool tile. He loves that, and sometimes will wander there himself, and put himself to bed. :)
don't you love when they put themselves to bed? marley does it all the time and it cracks me up. such sweet little puppies.
The last few weeks, Simon has taken to sleeping in my bed. He stretches across the bottom of the bed and there is no place for my feet and legs to go.

He stays anywhere from 5-??? minutes, or until I kick him off so I can get comfortable. From there its on the floor next to the bed for both dogs. At some point, Simon moves to the cool tile in the bathroom. We know this because every morning we have to move the rug back to its spot.
The other night I came to "bed" (chair) but didnt have the lights on and bumped into Jack on the floor 8O I flipped on the light and found him "guarding the floor grate." This is a summer position when it's hot and cool air is blowing up. He lifted his head as if to say, "Hey, where the cool air??" The next day he got his summer cut. Last night I opened the bedroom window for him, hopefully he's more comfortable. I'm not what with the cooler temps (I need a blankie) and the pollen. What we do for our dogs.
