We are the exact opposite of you guys...at home, I talk more...in a social setting, Scott is super talkative, and I'm practically a mute |
No surprise here to any of you who know me...............either situation & I am the talker! |
Coming at this from the "Guy" side of things, I would think most of us would like to ask "Who listens more?" Probably at least 97% of the Gals would say they do while 97% of the guys would say, "listen to what!" |
At home or in a close group of family or friends we are about equal. In social settings, Todd is very quiet, and he actually tries to avoid them as often as possible. For those that know me, you probably would be shocked to know I used to be painfully shy. I worked very hard to overcome it...and it worked! |
Shhhhhh- don't tell anyone, but just between you n me, Mulligan talks the most. |
^^ What a loud home you must have. ravenmoonart wrote: We are the exact opposite of you guys...at home, I talk more...in a social setting, Scott is super talkative, and I'm practically a mute YES SO TRUE about you guys!!! You talk talk talk like me over the phone, chat, etc ...but in person, you're a lot more reserved and it's Scott that is like me. I'm me (bubbly, talkative) at home and in person. My husband is quiet. Sometimes so much so that it can come off as he doesn't like you when that's just not the case. He is an observer. With that said, I hate crowds. Crowd is anything more than about 4 people. lol If we're in a setting with more than that, I then become the observer and just take notes in my head and stay fairly quiet. |
When we are at home, my hubby is the big talker. When we are out in public we are equal in our talking. As to the listening, I'm a far better listener then he. |
I would have to say in a "general" social setting Scott & I are pretty equal. Get us into a group/event/setting focused around: military, soccer, beer comparisons-- Heaven help us~ I can't get Scott to shut up. In new situations or when we are just relaxing (say at the park etc) we both are people watchers. It's amazing what you can learn about a person by just observing them (good and bad) I think Baloo is the best listener in this house. (he beats the children by far!) |
I talk the most in every situation. John is a slow and methodcal person, and his hesitation is the perfect opportunity for me to jump in and take control of the conversation. Not something I am really proud of... I am trying to talk less, and let him get his thoughts in order before I jump in. I wish I could be more like him, because very rarely does he put his foot in his mouth. I seem to always have a big toe stuck in mine. |
I'm in no relationship but I'm still the one who talkes most! ... especially at work, they are soon sick of me!! |
Oh, that's easy. I do. (and people comment how quiet I am.......well in comparison....) DH is deaf on one side and misses half of what is said to him and too shy/stubborn to talk in social situations unless he "knows" people. It was one thing to have to speak at work where he knew and did his job, but socially he's very introverted. People are amazed, once he "knows" them he's very friendly and witty. I also think he's quiet because he never got a chance to talk while growing up. His older sisters were super chatterboxes. |
I'm the chatty one, while Greg is more quiet. At home he talks more, but not more than me In social situations, especially with people we are meeting for the first time, I do more talking because Greg feels uncomfortable and often feel like I'm filling in the gaps with waffle but hey ho |
Troy is the talker. He's a salesman. I talk at home and at work, but in social situations I would love to be invisible. If he would just stay by my side the whole time I would be fine, the minute he leaves, I turn into that shy little school girl that used to have a speech problem. Lisa and Frankie |

That would be me I guess....I ALWAYS say things before I think about it! ALWAYS! Then, dwell on what a stupid thing I just said for hours! At home, at work any where I am always talking about something! My Mom used to say she would give me a penny for every second I was quiet!! Well, I am still penniless!! They don't call me "Chatty Cathy" for nothing!~ |

Even now that she is grown I have to tell her to slow down because I can't listen that fast |
I was really shy at school and hated it, so like Dawn I worked really hard to overcome it. Now I talk to much, I'm making up for lost words. |
