Haircuts and weightloss

I know there was an old post about this - I believe Judi started it about how much weight does your dog lose after a haircut?

Today I trimmed Chewie way down - he was pretty long and shaggy and now he's 1-2 inches long.
His normal weight is right around 73 pounds. I weigh him at least weekly on the scale at The Paw when I'm there teaching.
Tonight he weighed in at 69.7#
So, roughly a 3 pound haircut!

You know... it's true! I had Asterisk at the vet on a Friday for a hip x-ray and she weighed in at 75lbs. The next day I decided to shave her down. We had an accident and ended up at the emergency room. She wasn't completely shaved down, she still had her front legs furry, but she was down to 72.5lbs.

I wonder if the reason my dogs get spritely after a shave down is due to having lost all that extra weight in hair.
WOW 3lbs 8O
That's a lot of hair!
Ya know... I DO need MY hair cut... :lmt:
