Looking for name suggestions
I think this is a really cute name, but I want to make sure there are no other names I like better. I've also considered naming him Bernard and calling him Bernie, naming him Theodore and calling him Teddy, or finding a distinguished English name to match his English heritage. | Aww he's a cutie and it seems he's already fond of kitties! That's a good beginning. As for the name suggestions, it's so hard taking a name from someone else. It really has to be something you and your family decides on. If you do a Google search you'll find lots of baby name sites as well as pet name sites. I waivered on a few for a while but when I saw him, I just knew my boy would be named Spike. |
| I really like the name Hercules the more I say it. I think I was holding out because my husband picked the name and not me. But I have to admit, I love the name, and it will be perfect for our little giant!
I do need some suggestions for house training, good chew toys, introducing him to my children and Bassett Hound, etc. My kids are 11, 8, and 2. Our 4th child, the Bassett, is almost 3. |
| Welcome Shadow! Congrads on your new puppy! I'm also getting mine this week, on wednesday. As far as the names I like Hercules too, Teddy is also adorable for a Sheepie since they kinda look like big fuzzy bears and as puppies cute little bear cubs. You may want to decide on a few you like, and just wait til you get him, and give him the name that suits his personality the best. I'll be waiting as well and then decide once I meet my pup. |

I had my heart set on naming our lil guy Dickens, after charles dickens ofcourse, and the fact the he was probably gonna act like a lil dickens lol My girls were tossing around the name Tecumseh, after we met him, Tecumseh (also call him Tuc) just fit him better. lol although he does seem to answer to everything else we call him ie baby boy, big guy, squishy lol  |

| My favorite names are:
Jackson, Winston, Trapper, Fischer, Diesel, Phoenix, Hudson, Berkley, Ryder, Bentley and Indy. Now with that being said, it all depends on the the dog. I've had myself set on name, but then got the dog and it just didn't suit him/her. My fav suggestion is to call the name out loud over and over, and pretend he is across the street...do you want the entire neighbourhood to know your calling FiFi inside...as an example. A 1 or 2 syllabel name is easier to say and less confusing for the dog. Avoid names that sound like NO. I like Hercules, but myself I'd be simply saying Herc all the time. Have fun, toss around all your choices once he gets there you'll find one that suits him in no time. |

| I too thought of the Teddy when picking out a name for my sheepie a couple of years ago. We decided on the name Dudley! It is old English and fits him to a tee! Now we are getting a girl sheepie in a few weeks and I need a D name to do with Dudley! Any suggestions? I'm thinking maybe Daphne or Darla. |
