Free Rice
This website posts multiple-choice quizzes on a range of topics (vocabulary, grammar, geography, art, math, etc.). For each correct answer you provide, sponsors partner with the United Nations World Food Programme to donate 10 grains of rice to people suffering chronic hunger. This doesn't sound like much, but the cummulative effect has a real impact. I used to waste time playing FreeCell; now I visit Food for Rice, hopefully learn something, and help others -- all at the same time. Try it -- it's fun and addicting! |

That was fun! You really do learn because they give you the same question a little later if you got it wrong. I did 230 grains  |
