It's a GIRL!
We have trimmed the long list down to 2 possible names but we can't make a decision. Lollie (she'll be a lollie pup!) or Bella My daughter says that Bella is too sophisticated and prissy and our family is not - she says that our puppy needs a fun name. My son says that Lollie makes him want to eat her - which could potentially be a problem! I also liked the name Lizzy 'cause when she gets furry we can call her frizzy lizzy. I figure we could just wait until she comes home and pick the one that matches her personality best but I'm also anxious to pick. ANYWAY - HELP! If we can't pick a name we'll just be calling her IT'S A GIRL! |

I love the name Lollie!  We had a cat with that name once...she was a foundling, and the stock joke was: Lollie, as in lollie-pop, as in sucker...which is how we wound up with a cat!  Congrats on the new baby!  |

| I usually wait until they come home & see how they act. So many times the name you are thinking of just doesn't fit them! We were going to call Isaac "Steeler" (we are big Steelers fans). Brought him home & no way did that name fit him! Mariah has a pretty girl's name but most of the time she get called Porcupine! She's such a tomboy & most of the time her hair is sticking up everywhichway! |

| I agree that the name Bella is very popular. I have at least one Bella in my classes - for the past several sessions! All breeds, all colors of dogs. If you like Bella, be prepared to run into lots of them when you are out and about. Lollie is much more fun My daughter's BF is getting a female lab, and they are going through the same name choice (and yes, Bella was one of the choices) issues. They have pretty much decided on Lucy, but are open to making a decision change later on (the pups are 5 weeks now) if it's not a good match. My granddaughter's new pup is a male, and his name is Chip. His litter theme was "My 3 Sons" (old TV show) and that was his puppy name. It still fits, so they are keeping it for his call name! |

Congrats on the new puppy! I like Lollie-pup alot! Very cute! but like people are saying, be prepared to have her come home and end up picking a new name. We went through several names with Tonks and Luna before we settled on two that suited their personalities but still tied them together as sisters. I wanted to name them Storm and Trooper.  I also have a cat named Selena that has gone by the nick name Bibbers for 18 years. |
Marilyn, I'm very sorry to say that I can't count your vote since you are a Steelers fan and I am in Baltimore.  So - the poor dear still doesn't have a name - everyone in my house likes Bailee. I still love Lollie! We are going to wait until she comes home. I was reading a Dr. Seuss book about a bird named Gertrude McFuzz. She doesn't have a big beautiful tail like the other bird in the story so she takes a pill to grow one. When it works she decides that taking more would be better and her tail gets too big for her and she can't fly. They have to return her tail to it's original form but she learns to love it from the experience. I think it's a great story about loving who you are so I suggested we name her Gertrude McFuzz and call her Gertie, Trude or something of the sort. Of course hubby and kids don't like it but since she is my birthday / mother's day present, I have the final say!  I keep threatening to just name her Steve. |
