feathery butts.... that struck me funny!! HAHA I think it's cute to check on the Eagles. I even sent tbe link to my hubs in Iraq. |
Actually they are still so young they still are in their down. |

Now they are that grey color. I keep thinking I'm starting to see pin feathers sprouting on the older one. The 1st one hatched Easter day, the 2nd 2 days later, and the last was about a week after the 1st one. I am surprised it still is making it, but it looks good. |
Yep, there are some spikes appearing. Curious the initial fluff is gone, now this down which will be under the feathers. Youngest often don't make it, too much competition. Hope there's enough food about for all. |
I've checked a couple times today but only see the adult bird on the nest, haven't seen the babies yet.... |
Dawn--thanks so much for sharing the link! I have loved watching the nest--even created a class for an event based on it and everyone LOVED it! |
Susan - there is lots of nearby food. There is a trout hatchery very close..... I see trout laying on the nest lip quite often. Kind of gross at times....thank goodness no smell through the camera, you can see flies buzzing around the dead fish. I'm glad they all are there. Surprised actually - having 3 eaglets is huge! Sheepiezone - cool that you used it in class. I am enjoying learning more about them too. |
good eaglet viewing now! |
