Fernie and the Dobden Trophy
Every year there is a trophy which is only for OES resident in Scotland, this is the Dobden trophy. For the year January-December 2004, you collect points at all Scottish shows, tally the points and submit your points total to the club and the dog with the highest points for the year is awarded the trophy. Well my big lad Fernie collected the trophy today with a points total of 375. We are so pleased, not only to have won this but he is the first ever undocked OES to win it. I am really pleased that all the hard work Fernie has done last year has been recognised. He tries so hard to please and really enjoys his show days out. Well done my boy, you are my champion. | Thanks to you all for the wonderful replies. You all sound as chuffed as I am. LOL I don't think I have ever been so proud, Fernie has put in a tremendous effort for me at ever show we attended and really ties his big heart out. So for him to have been awarded this is something truely special. It's a day that I will never forget.
In case you are wondering points are awarded thus :- 1st place 5points 2nd place 4points 3rd place 3points 4th place 2points. So you can see that to get 375 points for the year, Fernie had to compete in a good few classes and be placed. He now also has 10 Best of Breeds, a Best AV Pastoral and has been placed in some groups too. Not bad for the dog that's known around the show rings as "That OES with the tail" lol.
