So then I would put him in his crate, he would curl right up and go back to sleep. ( I know I'm a mean mommy, but believe me I need my sleep) By the time the weekend came around, he slept until 6:30. Yeah Frankie Momma knew you could do it. Lisa and Frankie |

Good boy Although I bet he still wants to give those kisses.... |
secure the crate door in an open position so he can go back and forth as needed. Often they enjoy their "den." |
Good boy Frankie! |
I had to smile with your post. . Bowie, now is 3 would come out of his crate, lick my face, drink some water, and then go back in and curl up and sleep in his crate. I always felt he slept better in there. I leave the door open and he still likes to go in and curl up. Sometimes I feel like when he is out, wandering around, he feels like he is on "patrol"....Going in the crate is his "spot" and I think he is relaxed there and sleeps better... Bella, she is not yet 2, still doesn't really relax until she is in her crate for the night. She goes in and proceeds to kick all her blankets around and then curls up to sleep. Both sleep in our room with us. I truly believe they enjoy their crates. |
OH yes I still have Frankies crate out. He's very comfortable in it. I agree with the being on patrol. The first night we tried this he came in the bedroom, and looked out the bedroom window growling at nothing. So at that point I put him in his crate. Now he sleeps by the outside doors. I know they used to call Pyrs mat dogs. I wonder if that's what he's trying to be. My husband comes home late at night, and Frankie doesn't even wake up. I'm sure he recognizes his car.
