I'm doing the Boston Marathon!

OK, well... not exactly. I have formulated a six-year plan for The Marathon, beginning in 2010 and continuing until the 2015 Boston Marathon:

2010 I will watch the entire Marathon on TV until the wheelchair winner crosses the line.
2011 I will watch the entire Marathon on TV until the elite male winner crosses the line.
2012 I will watch the entire Marathon on TV until the elite male winner crosses the finish line.
2013 I will watch the entire Marathon on TV while sitting or standing until the elite male winner crosses the finish line.
2014 I will go to the 6 mile mark and cheer the runners on for a full 2 hours.
2015 I will run the 26.2 mile (42.2 kilometer) course in under 3 hours.

OK, now I realize that this is an ambitious plan, but I think with hard work, dedication and your support I can pull it off.
Thanks in advance and wish me luck!

LMAO.... good to have goals Ron
You didn't disappoint me when I opened this thread ....

We are all in support of your plan.

Maybe in 2015 some of us can be at the 6 mile mark cheering you on.

Hmmm...good possible exercise plan for me: If I started walking now, I might make it there by then! :lmt:
Great plan. Keep us posted. :D
:clappurple:

I like your thinkin'!
I fast tracked my training cycle and competed with 1 months training.

It took dedication and perservence though.

Wk 1. I sent off my application
Wk 2. I studied the course
Wk 3. I planned my strategy for the run
Wk 4. I drove the course in under 1 hour :sidestep:
:rimshot: :clappurple:
I must admit I'm a little winded from reading these replies...
OK, I'm stretching out now! *

*(On the sofa. This pre-race schedule is taxing!)
Truly, I'd join you but your training scedule is a bit much for me.
I'll think about it though. (maybe later, I'm winded as I type)

Shellie
Just do a "Rosie Ruiz".

Kathie
You sound like my husband and his p90x.

You may need a little more meat in the middle b/c I'm not sure the watching alone will prep you for the big jump in 2015.
"big jump"???

That is a rigorous schedule! Just the year before will require a two-hour effort. Three hours (actually under three hours) whould be that much of a jump. In fact the faster I run the less time I will have to work, so the easier it should be!

I just KNEW I could win the race using pure logic.
Does it count if i ride my bike along next to you as a cheerleader. I can do 26 miles on my bike not on foot. then when you need a break i can put you on the hande bas like we did when we were kids.
I believe in 2015 the entire Boston Marathon is planned to be down hill.............................
Your chair should roll nicely RON !!!!!!!!!!!
