Back from Florida with a TAX REFUND question :)
 Anyway-- question. For the first time in like 100 years- we are gettting REFUNDS on our 2009 taxes!  Thing is-- they keep moving the dates around when I check that irs website. Is this normal??? First we were to get our refunds on the 12th- then the 19th- and now it says the 30th. GRRRR. I have some major shopping to do  Any insight into the goverment's refund system? |

Not that I keep up well with the latest news pertaining to our wonderful government BUT...I did read something that they were holding back refunds until the end of the month. Something to do with the terrible fiscal state our country is in...I am in NY and expecting a refund as well and the State is holding back its refunds as well...Don't worry. You'll get it. Just not so quickly  |

| Our accountant told us they were all over the place with dates this time around. Some of her clients that she submitted on the same day were getting refunds up to a month apart for no apparent reason. I think we got ours in under 2 weeks. |
| Our refunds also came quickly, it was about 2-3 weeks, but we file in early Feb. For the states that are delaying refunds can you charge them interest & penlties???? |
