well I pointed to the ramp with Gigi on my right - she went right up and walked over and went down the steps on the other side (I was at her side the whole way). I was so happy and she knew it. Gigi was jumping up and down sooooo proud of herself. She continued to do it on command. ahh how cute. So we will be continuing with obedience and then onto agility or rally or both. She was also temperment tested at the indoor park and the tester stated she should be a therapy dog -- she is soooooooooo sweet! Ok ok I know i sound like a proud mother. yes i am |

What a good girl Yes, do work on therapy, it gets her and you out and about without possibility of breaking more bones as can happen in agility. |

I have done 25 years of therapy dog work without a single injury!!! Would it be too much to hope the same for agility?? hmmm, that would make me REALLY old though - in my 70's! Congrats on the report with Gigi. A good obedience foundation is only the beginning of the fun!! |

Way to go Gigi! I know how proud of her you are! |
Great news on Gigi! Happy to hear your foot is healing. Where is the "indoor" dog park you went to? |
Guess you are right, I should go with therapy since i break easily. HA! I did not break my foot in agility. I was out in my yard with the dogs (all of them) when Gigi and Bogey came running at full speed and did not see me nor did I see them. It was a surprise for all of us. My foot twisted badly and I fell. Which of course they thought I was on the ground for them. HA! Lots of kissing and jumping on me while I was down. Later that day the foot swelled and turned ugly colors. This was on Jan 2. Happy New Year. I was in a cast for 5 weeks and have been in a big boot since. But no more crutches. It was not fun still isn't. But at least I am back to training. Yes there is a new indoor park on US1 in Melbourne - it is called "Canine Campus." It is wonderful. There is an indoor park, a coffee/drink bar for us, wifi, also there is daycare, training (big area for agility..), boarding, grooming and there will be a vet. There is a boutique for pets also. One stop shopping. There are also areas to bath and dry your dog yourself. Great place. I had the two sheepies in the park on wednesday. they had a ball. It is great for Florida - the heat, the rain.. Gigi is doing great with training and loves to do it. Now I have to start again with Bogart. |
Carol: Thank you for the info on Canine Campus...not to far from here..I will have to stop in. |
Nice job Gigi (and mom too)! Doing Therapy is very rewarding. |
