I have no idea what you mean...lol.... I just go over the dog, then if I've missed some I go over it again.... |
Hey. A 7F blade will make a fuller cut. The difference is the 7F blade will give you a short, textured look (think shorter puppy cut), and the 7 blade will give you a close, smooth look (think shaved with hair left on body). Do NOT go backwards using the 7F or it'll be gappy. I learned that the hard way, thank goodness on my own dog. I used to use the 7 on my mini-schnauzer while making his pattern, because the 10 cut too close to his skin for my liking. HTH some!
PS I always thought the F stood for Full? I was a groomer for nearly 5 years, and I always heard it called Full. |
THe F stands for finish blade as opposed toa skip tooth blade. The skip tooth blade will have the same number of cutting teeth but skip every one, two, three or five (I think) teeth in the gathering blade. If thats what you call it. So with the skip tooth blade directs or controls more hair per tooth with less cutting surfaces and the F blade gathers less hair per tooth with more cutting surfaces for a finer cut. It will make a difference in the finish or levelness of the cut. I highly reccommend the F blade. The 7, 10 or 3 refer to the height of the cut. You can look these up on any site that sells blades. The ceramic blades run cooler than the steel. Buy the most expensive blade you can. to begin get one # 10 blade and a set of attachable combs for the different heights. |
