LeAnne and Keith have been researching for a couple years. Breanna has always loved dogs and dog shows. She started "training" Tazz, her aunt's MinPin in classes when she was 4-5 years old. She would do a whole hour in the intermediate class . She loves shows and has always been the perfect dog show kid. She has been doing 3 day shows like a pro since she was 4 yrs old. She is turning 8 this August, and can do Jr's soon in AKC (already done them in UKC), as well as starting 4-H next year in 3rd grade. So, the hunt began. She wanted a little dog (she loves Toy Fox Terriers and Papillons), but Keith nixed the little fru-fru dogs. We showed/groomed in obedience/rally and conformation by several Tollers (Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers) over the past few years. They seemed like nice dogs. Keith came to some shows and they got his stamp of approval too. LeAnne has been chatting and emailing a couple breeders over the past year, and found one she really liked. Nice humans, nice dogs. So, they are getting puppy Chip in May. The kennel is a couple hours from us, so nice to go visit pups as they grow. They show in conformation, but also all the dogs have obedience and field titles as well. That was important! Mom Ella is 6, is a CH, has her CD as well as field titles in US and Canada. They do all the testing ( ). And mom Ella's sister Tori is the #1 ranked Toller in the nation now for conformation - 2009 National Specialty winner, and 2010 BOS at Westminster. AND she has her field titles as well. There are 3 males in this litter. It is a repeat breeding, the 1st pairing pups turned out well. They are themed the "My 3 Sons" litter, with call names Rob, Chip and Ernie. Chip is the show quality pup - another is a maybe. We visited them for the 2nd time last Saturday - here are some pictures Chip with his puppy kong Bre with Chip playing with the pups outside with Ella (front) and Tori and the tired pups as we were leaving (Chip in the front) They get Chip in May, after LeAnne graduates. The pups are ready by Easter, but they are holding him until then. LeAnne has fieldwork an hour away from home, so she needs to get that done before a pup - too long w/ everyone gone from home. This is the kennel site: http://manitoutollers.com/index.html We are all so excited!! Grandpa Todd has already been recruited to help Bre with the field training too. |

Oh my gosh... look at Bre holding the dog. No way she's sharing that dog!!! Looks like a snuggler! |
I've admired Tollers, not too small, not too large, nice temperment, and not alot around. I like the red coat............and the pups are adorable! |
Congratulations! What beautiful puppies! |
I have a nice lady in my obedience class that has Tollers. Really nice dogs. She breeds, does conformation, obedience, agility etc. She must have a good line too as she does quite well with her dogs & she has a young daughter that handles too. The dogs are really nice tempered & sweet. Your grandduaghter should do very well with this breed. Love the pictures! |
Those pups are darling! I love the little white dash on each of their foreheads Breanna is one lucky little girl...not just for the pup, but for having a family that supports her love of dogs and wanting to show. By the way Dawn...Id really love to see a "family portrait" of all of your dogs, and granddogs together! |
