More crock pot recipes that involve chicken or turkey, plz!

I got a crock pot for Christmas and it really got me motivated to cook stuff (not even just crock pot stuff all the time, either!). So, I'm looking for more "proven" crock pot recipes that have chicken or turkey in them. I've tried everything that I was interested in making that was posted on the forum and now I'm looking for more ideas. If you guys have more stuff that you make, could you post the recipes? I, obviously, can do an internet search but I don't really don't know what I'm getting. Sure, there are some reviews but I don't know those people so they could be liars. I know you guys so I trust that you won't steer me wrong. :)

Yeah, I want to know too!

Also, include some that can cook all day, not for only 4 hours :?

Well try moving to red meat and it'll return the favor by being more forgiving in the slow cooker ;)

I'd like some more too! I know how busy it is to cook on limited time. Sorry, I can't think of any more chicken ones that I haven't posted. I need to be more organized as I have a whole cabinet of JUST recipes I've tried and kept.
I think I'm doing an old one today, but I'm doing to make some changes. If all goes well, I will post tomorrow.
Chicken and marinara sauce is easy:

Boneless chicken breast and homemade or bottled sauce, toss in pot on low and cook. You can add mushrooms, chunks of tomato or whatever near the end. Serve over spaghetti. If you want add some provolone cheese on top of the chicken and broil, bake, or microwave until melted.
But is this one that can't be cooked all day? Won't the chicken turn out too soft?
I recently got a crock pot so I have been trying out different recipes. One recipe that I made recently was really good. Lee and I both liked it but it doesn't use the meats you specified.

To be honest I don't know, I've never eaten it :D . I've made it a million times and never heard a complaint, but maybe use a timer to shut off the pot at a certain time?
Do you like Thai inspired food? Josh makes a mean coconut milk soup that is fantastic. I'll post the recipe if you are interested.
I have a bunch for chicken and turkey. Here is one we like

CHICKEN WITH SPINACH, ARTICHOKES AND MUSHROOMS
1 1/2 to 2 pounds of boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 package frozen spinach thawed and squezzed dry
1 package 8 - 12 oz frozen artichoke hearts - i also use artichoke halves
1 package 8 oz mushrooms fresh
1/2 cup onion
1 can 3 -4 oz sliced olives - i use green but use what you prefer or leave out
garlic
salt
black pepper
1 cup chicken broth
1 package 4 oz grated parmesan cheese

1. rinse chicken, pat dry, set aside
2. stir together, spinach, artichoke hearts, mushrooms, onion, olives, garlic, salt, pepper and chicken broth in crock pot. stir in chicken. cover and cook on low for 7 -8 hours. stir in cheese during the last hour. serve over rice or pasta.
Hope you like,.
Let me know if you want more. I have some that cook the rice right in it,
^^
of course we want more crock pot recipes. :)

I have a whole book of slow cooker recipes, but I'm waiting to try them myself before posting.
Yes, keep posting, for sure. That one sounds great but if my husband eats it, I have to modify it by removing the mushrooms or he gags and cries like a baby. I miss the mushrooms in so many things. :(
Ooh, that's a good one. I like that it can cook all day AND doesn't have tons of cream/cheese/mushroom soup base to it.
Try looking at this site... I've made quite a few of her recipes and some really really YUMMY stuff off this site!!! MMmmm

http://crockpot365.blogspot.com/2007/12 ... cipes.html

She spent a whole year cooking everyday with a crockpot (sometimes 2)...
I know she likes to use gluten free items in some recipes because I think one of her kids has Celiac disease... but I don't. For instance if she uses a gluten free flour... I'll just use regular flour. I've never had any problems with it not turning out right.

I almost bought the cookbook when I saw it in the store.... but thought WHY? when I can use her site?
I bookmarked it! Thanks.
I have a ridiculously simply recipe for a whole turkey breast. I hit several grocery stores before I found a farmers market that sells them year round, and not just at Thanksgiving. This is SO easy is silly, and a really yummy way to cook a moist turky without basting every 15 minutes.

1 large, boneless turkey breast
1/4 apple cider
1 tsp salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper

1) Put Turkey breast in slow cooker. Drizzle apple cider over turkey. Spinkle on boht sides wiht salt and pepper.
2) Cover. Cook on HIGH 3-4 hours.
3) Rmove turkey breast. Let stand for 15 minutes before slicing.

Well THEY don't, but WE do!!!! Pleez to share????
okay; let me preface this by saying that when I got my crock pot about 6 months ago, I was determined to not cook anything with cans of soup. That said, when ever I found a recipe that was without the obligatiory Cream Of Fill-in the Blank soup, it had 20+ ingredients that always required precooking, blanching, searing or something else that sort of defeated the purpose of my crock pot; Throw It In and Eat it 6-8 Hours Later.

So I broke down and tried this recipe, and everyone loves it. I substituted fresh sliced mushrooms for canned ones, and used my own judgment on how much to add. We're mushroom lovers here, so I go pretty heavy on them.

Chicken In Mushroom Gravy

6 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves.
salt to taste
pepper to taste
1/4 cup dry white wine, or chicken broth
10 3/4-oz. can of cream of mushroom soup
4-oz. can of sliced mushrooms

1) Place chicken in slow cooker. Season with salt and pepper.
2)combine wine and soup. Pour over chicken. Top with mushrooms.
3) Cover. Cook on LOW 7-9 hours.
If it were up to me, mushrooms would go in EVERYTHING. I love them!

Good to know. So the next time we get pizza after a dog show we can order double mushrooms? And let Cathy get her "tons of meat" pizza

Absolutely! No meat for me!
So I made a variation yesterday of a recipe Deb posted a while ago.

Into the crock pot:
1 diced onion
1 fennel bulb chopped
1 can fire roasted tomatoes
1 handful sundried tomato
1/2 cup chicken stock
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon Herbs de Provence
1 tablespoon crushed red pepper
2 chicken breasts

Cook on low for 8 hours. Served over pasta with some parm cheese. Yummy!
I got this recipe from my basset friend Paula - she posted it in FB for us, due to popular request. I can't wait to try it!

MELISSA'S crockpot "like Chipotle" Frozen boneless/skinless chicken breasts (I used 4 for my family), 1 jar of salsa. Start off on high until the chicken is tender and starts to flake. Add 1 can of black beans and 1 can of corn. About the last 1/2 hour add 1 cup of minute rice (will make the mixture less soupy). Serve in tortilla shells with lettuce and cheese!

I asked her about all day cooking....

I cooked the chicken on high for about 4 hours. Added the remaining ingrediants and turned it down to low until the rice was done (maybe another 30 to 45 minutes). It's really going to depend on your crockpot. Just making sure the chicken is completely cooked and shreds:)

She said 8-9 hours on low (as you want the meat to shred) would work, just add the final ingredients when you get home.
^^

I'm going to do that this week!

My crock pot on low for any chicken cooks in 4 hrs, 5-6 frozen, but as long as there is enough liquid, should be okay.
