With daylight savings now in place over much of the country, today was a good day to retrain the dogs to eat a bit later.......yeah right. I was sitting talking to DH after coming home from church.....we had another feed and cleanup necessary, home late...anyway...... Jack comes running into the kitchen, goes to his bowl and starts yapping which of course gets the other dogs into the act. I look at the clock which is still on standard time.......it's 2:02pm standard time, their normal feeding time. If he was clueing off an empty tummy he should have come in at 3 daylight savings. As we pondered, we realized he'd been right below a chiming clock.......apparently he can last thru the 3 single chimes: 12:30, 1:00 and 1:30, but when there's a 2 chimer, it's dinner time! When I asked him "what you want" he actually turned his head and looked at the clock and barked! I think I heard, "The big hand is on the 12 and the little on the 2, time to eat!" Dang, he's spooky. |

Oh my, that is so darn clever. And clever of you too as you figured out it was the clock chimes. They're the ones that annoy me if I wake up in the middle of the night at my Mom's house. My watch doesnt have a light and there's no bedside lamp so I listen for the chimes to know the time. If its 12.30 or 1am I here another single chime half an hour later then dont know if its 1 or 1.30, then I have to get up and turn the light on if I'm desperate to know the time. A foible of mine is I find it hard to go back to sleep if I dont know the time, dumb but that how it is. Now I will try to think of Jack and smile and not wonder what the time is. |
LMAO!!! Honestly no one could make this stuff up |
