Not to be the bearer of bad tidings, but it could be an abscess. Owen's brother had a little bump like that on his gums and he wound up having a root canal. It might be worth getting checked out next time you're at the vet. |
Lisa, if you need a root canal done (and I hope not) go to Dr Colmery in Ann Arbor. I had Gabe's done there and he is awesome. |
Knowing Frankies background and the fact that he just had surgery and is on meds....some meds cause severe dry mouth. Can cause some sores in the mouth. Even with humans... Check with the vet if this is a side effect of one of the meds and ask what to give him for it. I would lean more that way than tooth absess at this point. Antibiotics, some other meds can really make a mouth dry...Maybe chewing on some ice cubes will help.. |
Could be an irritation or small injury. Is he on an antibiotic? Wondering it it might be oral thrush? |
Luna had a strange looking white thing on her gums last year. I raced her to the vets only to learn it was a wart or some kind. They removed it, and warned me that they often come back and multiply, and that Tonks might get them too since they share toys. But it never did come back, and Tonks didn't get any either. |
