Did I pick the right gender of puppy? Right breeder? and the list goes on... I think I am more nervous about our puppy then I was when I got married. |

Breathe deeply. You are about to receive a lovely black and white bundle of love and energy who will try your patience but chisel it's way into your heart. The first few weeks you'll wonder, "What did I get myself into?" Then gradually the routine begins to form and while you'll have a year of hair pulling....yours...it all works out in the end. A few sheepie smooches and all are forgiven. |
An exciting adventure is in your future....and WE are here to help!!! |
I completely understand! I felt much the same as I did when I decided to adopt a child! These are not decisions that most of us take lightly. Tazz came home 5 weeks ago and when I picked her up at the airport, it was really love at first sight. I felt an immediate bond and knew that she was vulnerable. I also knew that this would not necessarily be easy. There is a reason they call it puppy hell. Do not expect your puppy to be a perfect family member. Their baby teeth are sharp! They will jump on you and their nails will scratch. Just when you think you have things fairly under control, they will have moments of total insanity, teasing and taunting you with all the brattiness they can muster, all while laughing their little wiggle butts off. On the upside, she is cuddly, adorable and funny! I totally love her and love knowing that she is here with us! Dianne |
I'm getting my pup soon and i'm getting more nervous every day I think it's a normal thing .I've had 3 pups and i've and i have been nervous with every one |
oh i do understand, but you get over it once you see the puppy face and smell the puppy breath! I did prepare the house - even put the childproof plastic caps over the electrical outlets! no nervous mom here... |
......then once you see them you are hooked! When I was asked if I wanted my Baby Finn I jumped on it "YESSSSSSSSSSS" When I hung up the phone I thought "What did I just do??". I was nervous but, LOVE each and every day with him! Now close to two years later he is still a BIG pup that makes me smile all the time! You will do fine.... |
I think its normal to be nervous. With both my pups, arriving two years apart, I was a wreck...especially when they got hiome and I was up all night with the house training, etc..what the heck was I thinking...I'm too old for this...am I nuts...am I giving them enough attention...am I giving them too much attention...oh, the list goes on! You will be fine. The pup will be fine. You have some rough nights ahead in the beginning but believe me, we all get through it and then we look back and yearn for those cute puppy days!!!! Get some extra sleep now....think of it as if an infant is comeing home... |
