First AKC Trial

I finally took Marely to an AKC agility trial - she missed all of last summer due to an injury and then I didn't want to start AKC with an indoor trial - I really prefer out door trials. Well as winter wore on - indoors didn't seem like such a bad idea. :o :o

She was MAAhvelous!! My instructor was there for our first run (also trialing) and when we came out she said Marley was perfect - actually I thought she was slow, the problem with being inside where there were other dogs crated three feet from the ring on two sides and ring side on another.

Unfortunately, apparently, I am not as well trained as Marley and made a few major handler errors that kept us out of Qing. But, Marley was spot on (well except for when she was in the weaves and someone ring side opened a bag of chips and her head whipped around - you could almost hear her think "Treats!") and much more relaxed than I thought she would be. All in all a very nice weekend.

Very nice :D

Video?? pictures??
more details?
No video no pictures - anonymity for all:)

The only details I guess would be she was spot on on all obstables - only dropped a couple of bars (we are in regular so she jumps 24") and only when I clearly made an error (she shows her disapproval by knocking bars). I screwed up once so badly she knocked the last three bars!!!

No wandering, no concern for anything outside the ring (other than the potato chip man), no missed contacts, no refusals - other than the two I caused by being in the wrong place or poorly executing a blind cross.

She managed perfectly transitions that other dogs in OPEN and Excellent had difficulty with. She is pretty rock solid. And we have had the advantage of a great trainer. Now if I can get out of her way and not screw her up - it should be a fun summer.

Oh and I saw an older woman excused for cursing :) that was my cool detail  8)
Good details.....but pic/video still would have been nice. :D

BTW - I have been practicing saying "oh crap" so in moments of stress or frustration other less acceptable works won't blurt out... 8)
Yikes, I forgot about that I better start practising too!!! :cow:
I hadn't even thught about it 8O and lets say I have a bit of a naughty mouth ;)

The woman coming out of the ring was saying - really it was oh sit!!! (and the dog was on the table :) ) good try though ;)
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Bwahahaha!!! Good try!!!
I'll keep that one in the memory banks just in case, even though it didnt work for that lady.
I must admit that sometimes "Tiiiiigggggy" is the swear word, I dont seem to have time for the blue words but I'm sure they'll be the odd time I'll be tempted so best practise the less offensive words.
