Last week I had an interview for a data entry clerk. The lady narrowed it down to 3 of us, but decided to give the job to someone else. I was disappointed but consoled myself with the fact that it was a minimum wage/ school leaver position anyway, and I could probably do better than that. A few days ago I had a call saying the lady who interviewed me had put me forward for another position in the same company, but under a different boss. I had the interview and found out the 1st lady I saw thought I was too good for that position and this second one was more interesting. Today I went back for a second interview and they offered me the job! The money is a bit more reasonable and they provide all the training. Best of all, it's a 7 minute drive from my house and the hours are Mon-Thurs 8.30-4.30 and finishing an hour early on Fridays. NO WEEKENDS!! I'm over the moon as I have wanted an office job for ages so that I will have energy to cycle with Ru when I get home! From Monday I will be a Purchasing Assistant |

Thanks everyone- I'm feeling the support over here My first day went well once I got over my nerves. The guy I'm replacing is leaving in 2 weeks so I have a little time to pick things up. I had no idea there are so many components that go into making beds If I get the orders wrong, production will stop and the company will lose thousands of pounds per minute.... no pressure!! Yesterday I saw the Quality Control guy, he had made a small mattress 2ft x 2ft just to set fire to. I almost asked if he could make one 5x5 for Rufus |

Gawd, that'd do my head in. Definitely no pressure. Sounds like you are handling it like a champ. Haha! Today I started to get the hang of a couple of things. I've not worked a whole week for 4 years, so I'm struggling a bit. HOW can it not be Friday yet??! It's so tempting to have a nap with all those beds everywhere |
