Man....you are ALOT braver than me! |
I agree. I'd never let a man touch my hair. Okay, maybe if I broke my arm again, but even then... I was straining in EXTREME pain to do it myself. So no pic? |

I bribed my girlfriend to come over & do mine when I had my rotator cuff surgery Fed her a homecooked meal in return! |
Todd can cook and bake all he wants, but he's not touching my hair! He is color blind after all....... |
You ARE brave. Glad it turned out well. When DH and I were just friends back in college I had him dye my hair. I thought it looked great, but seeing pictures now, I'm like WHAT WAS I THINKING?! |
When my brother was living with my mom, he cut her hair and it looked pretty good. She has a simple bob though, nothing complicated. |
Nothing against a guy doing hair, as long as it's the right one (one with talent and skill). There are lots of women I wouldn't let touch my hair as well! Our family went to a guy stylist all through my teen years - cut my mom's, mine and both of my sisters' hair. He was awesome. His wife was also a stylist at the same salon, but liked him better! |
Only color help from DH is "what color this month." It was his choice to so red, after 5 years I'm backing out of that by adding more and more blond to the mix. He does cut my hair and I cut his! Of course I get to use a shaver........and it I ever decide to stop coloring, I'll let him use the shaver on me |

My husband, Lee does my highlights and has for most of our marriage. I get the kit, he pulls the hair through the cap and then mixes up the stuff, puts it on, and times it for me. All I have to do is deal with the pain of having the hair pulled through the cap and washing it out... saves me huge bucks.... |
Friend has hubby give her perms. She rolls what she can reach, he does the rest, puts on the various solutions, then she takes over again. He grumbles but all she has to say is "$75." Since I wear hair longish, it's just end work. |
Scott trims my hair, but since that just involves cutting in a straight line, it's not saying much . He cuts his own too....with the sheepie-shears! |
I had Vic help me a couple weeks ago too. I couldn't get the back very well and I was using two colors. I almost changed my mind when he put on the gloves and got this strange twinkle in his eye... Shellie |

Paid $90.00 today to have my long hair bobbed short and highlighted, not including the tip. I'm thinking of buying Bob a good pair of scissor's, bleach and some tinfoil. |
I buy the highlight kits with the cap, in the summer months Lee and I pull larger chunks of hair through the holes and use fewer holes to have a chunky summer look. In the winter months I use every hole, but pull small amounts through for a softer look. I have a hair cut done from a local salon that charges me 20 bucks for a great cut. I have been going to Rowena for several years now. She is Chinese, loves to cut hair and is darn good at it. I'm pretty lucky, I'm just now starting to get a little grey, like a few on my temples, but the highlights will hide it for a long time. |
I'm really pretty lucky not to have alot of gray. The little that I do have doesn't go front to back but ear to ear. It does make it easier to camo with highlight's so at 52 it's all I've needed. We won't discuss weight, sagging and all those good things.............. |
