Beyond that-- I am a trainer, talk all day long, and these past few days have been a bit "ouchy" at best |

LOL - the best one (and apparently most impossible) - rest your voice! No talking is what is needed to stop irritating the vocal cords. Otherwise, the only other comfort thing you haven't listed that I would do myself is drink hot tea w/ honey. I hope you heal up - vacation!!!!! |
Dawn----will Ibprophen help reduce the inflamation of the vocal cords? |

Sorry to hear! I think gotsheep is right ...just gonna have to rest that voice. :/ That's at least what the Dr told me when I asked!! I'm sure you'll get it back in time for your big trip *fingers crossed* I went 2 weeks without being able to talk after my c-section. I think with the oxygen being blown in my mouth, my mouth being left open, etc... I just lost my voice which the drs think was strange, but it was the only thing that happened from having my voice to not, and I kept wondering why this lasted so long too. |
John LOVES this.... Of course, I can still sign... if you get my drift |

LOVE IT |
I've had quite a few cases of laryngitis. And trying to whisper at patients all day was not fun. Ibuprofen helped a little but it always took 2-3 days of not speaking before my voice came back. If I spent those days in bed or on the couch reading and sleeping it always came back faster. Wayne always laughed himself silly too All the best hope you get to rest and have a voice for your vacation. Mim here not logged in. |
