Product name Silk something?

I remember reading here about people using a product called Silk or Silky something? It's like a liquid serum conditioner you leave on? I was using it and loved it and need to order more and can't for the life of me remember the exact name

silk spirits. From Chris Christensen
Thank you!!!
I love the stuff too. I have used it for years on my mixed breed dogs - after all, it smells great and you get a whole lot of shine. Recently however, I met with one of the CC staff about just what would work best on a harsh-coated sheepie. I was really surprised that they recommended that I avoid using Silken Spirits, as it will dry the coat and cause breakage. May not make a difference if you are not showing. But I thought I would pass on the info.

Because of the silicone?
I believe so. I am in the process of experimenting with the products they recommended: Day to Day Moisturizing Conditioner mixed with Ice on Ice.

I have used Silken Spirits on the mixed breeds and the Chesapeake Bay Retriever for 5 years without issue. But I am not trying to grow coat on them.

I use a lot of products on Betsy that I use on my own hair: Bumble and Bumble protein masque, etc.- I understand how they work and what they do, so while a tad expensive, I know the results I am going to get and therefore, it saves time.

Good luck!
That's strange. I have used Silk Spirits to help grow length on a shawl & hock coat & it has done the job for me. And the dog I have used it on has what is considered a very "correct" coat. :?
Now isn't that interesting. I wonder why their rep advised against it? I am working on hock and shawl coat, so I would love to use it.

Silicone products can keep moisture in but they can also seal it out because it closes the cuticle, which makes it look smoother but it isn't actually doing any long term repair. I would think moderate use would be okay since it has time to wear off, moisture to get back in and then seal the cuticle again but if it were used daily, it could have a drying effect.
I'm using Cowboy Magic De-tangler and Shine, and am really liking it. Can anyone tell me how does the Silk Spirits differ?

I think Cowboy Magic is a little thicker and a little less greasy, but not by much. I don't have both in front of me to look at the ingredients but I'd wager they're probably nearly identical.
Silk spirits is clear & I really woudn't call it greasy. I put an amount in the palm of my hand, smooth it around once or twice & then run my hands over the area I want to apply the silk spirits to. When I've done the areas I want to, I then just rub what's left on my hands into my own hands.

Thanks so much!
after reading all this i though i best get some from crufts and try it.
omg i love it! there is a big difference putting it on wet and dry coats i much prefer it on wet coats. billy does feel much better. i have used the stuff and i got some ice on ice from crufts too, i think i prefer the stuff.
but this silky spirits has made such a difference on my day to day grooming with all dogs. i did a bichon whos coat felt fantastic after. but on dogs like cockers it just wont dry.
i am quite impressed with the results, and for the price and the pea sized amount that i use i will keep on using it.
i have tried the cowboy magic detangle and shine. i do like that but depending what its for, if its for dematting then show seasons dematting spray from the uk at www.watt-a-dog.co.uk over rules anything
smells good and works really well.
the cowboy body shine is good but you cant really tell on a sheepie.
