Here is my question though... I left their faces fuzzy. Right now, the hair, I will admit, compared to their bodies, is just too long. Their faces have about 8 inches of growth. So they look like a muppet or fraggle. I have no idea how to properly blend their heads in. Can anyone give me pointers? Should I use a ruler? Should I eye it? I'll post pictures tonight when I photograph them, you'll see, they look a bit odd. |

No suggestions, Im afraid...just a request for photos! I think a I think a "half-groomed", "bad-groom" and general "my dog looks like a muppet" photo thread would be hilarious! I say this, as I look at my poor 3/4 shaved down Eggbert...who looks like nothing of this earth at the moment! |
well, i'm sure there'll be plenty of instruction soon. i'll be waiting on lol pictures. |
I would probably keep their fur the same length over the entire body, including the neck & head. That way it grows in evenly. Should be able to use clippers to clipper it down to the same length as the fur on the body. |
I think you did a great job! Coming from someone who has never held a clipper in her hand, I'm always amazed how good the sheepies look after parent grooming. You guys say novice and botched..I think wow, look at that Asterisk and Wendel are lovely. I see what you mean about their heads though. I love Chloe's short cut with a puppy face trim. She has a soft and rounded bob so to speak. The ears are blocked(?) and short. Still has a fuller face of hair, just a different do! If you like the full face, I say keep it. |
