First Week

Wow. It has already been a week. Here is the REALLY freaky part: My ONLY issue with Maggie is that she pees and pees and pees in the house. No potty since the first day when she had diarrhea. She cracks me up though, when I see her start to squat and I yell, she runs hellbent for leather to the doggie door. Just seeing that Panda Butt run soooo fast, makes me laugh. Of course I giggle less as I clean up the pee she let out at the speed of light. I know it is not an infection, because it is ALWAYS a full bladder. I know she doesn’t get it, because she does it right in front of me. Everything else is perfect. She sleeps from 10-7 every night and is a love in every way. :hearts: :hearts:

It took Tiggy ages to get pottying. :(

In the end I only wore clothes with pockets and there were always treats in them so that as soon as I even thought she might need to potty I went and stood outside with her for 15 minutes just in case and then praised and treated her when she went.

I originally made the mistake of running back in the house to get a treat if I'd forgotten to bring one out but all the taught the little smarty was to ring the bell to go out, go for a walk and then come back in and go to the pantry and wait for a treat. So no one can tell me that sheepies arent smart, it was me who was dumb.

I'm sooo glad I dont have to do that anymore the number of times I stood outside freezing my butt off while Miss Distractable wandered around me looking at the clouds and the tops of the fences and anything else that took her fancy. It took a while but we finally made it. :D
It has been brought to my attention that Maggie feels somewhat maligned by my previous comment on her toilette habits. She would like it noted that shortly after said comment was posted, there was an almost audible click somewhere is the region of her head. A light illuminated, and the potty portal (doggy door) was suddenly understood. Since this revelation, she has been most assiduous in her use of the 'facilities'. Furthermore she wanted me to admit that perhaps someone (me) should give someone else (her) a few more days before passing judgement. That is all.
cuteness. What a smart puppy you have! And you sound like the perfect sort of person for an OES....patient. :)
We were successful with potty training in that we took the pup pout every hour on the hour and after each pee, gave a treat imediately. She slept throught he night but I took her out immediately upon her awakening, meaning I had to keep a coat and shoes and leash right next to the crate so the minute she came out she got hooked with the leash and out we went....

I forget how old your new baby is...if she continues to pee constantly, I would check her for an UTI...

Didn't know you got a new puppy! Comngratulations!
She's doing great now. NO accidents all day. Yesterday she had about 10-12. Something just clicked.
